Did I dream we had Marvin Robinson??

  6. What an intake of players that was, that summer...

Bobby Flavell - classy right back, specialist in that position
    Gary Pierce - top goalkeeper
Ronnie Glavin - average midfielder, bit chunky, couldn't run, waste of money.... :D
I'm sure there was another incoming but struggling to think of his name???

  7. Eric Wenstanleydale.....n/t

    :D

    A certain Norman Hunter

Not only did we sign those particular players, but the rumour mill was in full flow all summer. Happy days.

    Youre probably right

I can remember him having a runout for us. It was probably in a friendly match. Didnt look up to much.

  13. How could I forget Hunter!!

Imagine the stir around Oakwell this summer had we signed four players of that calibre.
A top keeper who had played at Wembley for Wolves.
A cultured right back who actually PLAYS in that position, not "anywhere across the back line"
An even more cultured left sided centre half who played hundreds of games at the top level for...well, alright Leeds and Bristol City...and of course England.
And finally, a Scottish international powerhouse midfielder who looked a bit poor to start with - I remember his debut at Lincoln - but came good and then some! Our greatest ever signing I would say, certainly in the last forty years anyway.

    Happy, happy days...............Box office signings!!!
