It wasn't an easy choice

If we could play three centre backs then Hassell - Reid - Carbon would definetly be my line up but then to do that Tonge and Austin would have to become wingbacks and again I think that would show Hassells weakness when it comes to marking the player going wide.

Is it just me or do we seem to have ended up with a lot of players that are all the same position? Kell, Howard, Burns, Mcphail, Wroe, Tonge are all central midfielders and we only have two positions. Then there are about five competent centre backs and again only two positions.

Considering the amount of cover we have why is it that we always seem to be playing with a makeshift team? ie only one proper centre back against chesterfield.

RE: Who have we got that offers more in that position then?

Your posts about Hassel are pure sh!te. Still think your having a laugh.

Rarely puts a foot wrong when playing at centre half and does a job at full back. Reid and Carbon are probably our strongest defensive partnership at the back... and Carbon's size is the only thing he has over Hassel in a starting place when all fit of course. We've have one hell of a squad if he was the weakest link.

    :)

Enjoy match if you go anyhow.

For me our weakest link isn't any one player

It is the tactics that they all adopt and presumably that is because ritchie tells them to adopt those tactics.

Examples are long ball instead of utilising one of the best passing midfields in the league, nobdoy left up field at corners, the same throw in everytime, down the line and just hope that we win the header and then hope again that we get the second ball.

Off Topic, but Kell in midfield ?

    :pff Thats very strange.

Yet to pull on a red shirt for Barnsley and he makes your strongest team. He might have been an a very good player for Scunny.

Didnt Kevin Donovan win Grimsbys player of the year? and we signed him the following summer.

My strongest defence would be. Tonge - Hassel - Reid - Austin

    *Fingers crossed Kells magic :)

i think that, nobdoy left up field at corners, actually helps to exploit the speed we have in our team (shuker, devaney, hayes etc)
