I'm 99% sure.. that it was over the line. Thought so at the time, was even more sure after TV, and McFarland's comments seemed to confirm it.
absolute ****** to paraphrase.</p> He would say that wouldn't he?</p> I remember Jack Charlton commenting the same after watching one R Glavin? score at Swillsborough..</p> "I could see clearly that the ball had not crossed the line.."</p> Charlton, like the aforesaid McFarland, was sitting in a dug out, on the halfwayline, below pitch level.</p> The ball had gone about 18 inches past the line.</p> I thought it was a good stop on the line from the East Stand Upper.</p>
Bloody Hell.. McFarland said he had seen the TV replay and it was in. I saw the TV replay and it was in. I thought it was in at the time, from Gangway 14 of the East Stand upper. I'm not making stuff up just to argue with you, thats what I saw.
RE: Bloody Hell.. I've heard other people who saw the replay though who say it was very close to being in, but it couldn't be said the whole ball was definitely over the line - hence a goal cannot be awarded. It's safe to say it was a close call ff
Anyone would think I was stating everything I say as a fact.. I guess I'm not allowed an opinion on this site unless I think that Hayes is sh*t and that the sun shines out of Nardiello's arse.
Don't take it personally. I was not having a go. Football is all about opinions, and when I want yours, I'll give it to you..</p>
Lol Its alright, I'll forgive you once you set me up for a goal at the next BBSFC game. Sometime next year maybe? ff
