Are we talking about the same player? Michael Chopra? 4 goals in 30 odd games last season. Fell foul of r Mick. A guy who posts photos of himself clutching wads of cash. An addict. Banned from racing. 30 year old this year. Wanted by Wednesday. . Are we that desperate? Really. Don't get me wrong, if he signs up then he'll get my support as they all do. But to me he's a busted flush. An empty bollock. And a bit of an idiot. Got Mido mark II all over it. . Can't bloody wait.
I can't see how Chopra fits in with the Flicker ethos tbh. However I'm sure if any talks have taken place with him, it's been spelled out what the requirements are these days if you sign for this club. I suppose it's up to him. I'm not sure he has the character for Flitcroft's challenge, then again I might be wrong. If he signs for Wednesday I think we'll know. If he does sign for us I'll get behind him 100% same as the rest of them. UTR.
To get the best out of Chopra he must get his off-pitch problems under control. Last off with us he was on the phone to his bookies during half time & had Dave Jones fending off Geordie heavies demanding money there and then. If, and it's a big IF, he can do that - you may get youselves one hell of a striker. Really hope it works out for both parties.
Don't think he would have lost pace tbh - more focus than anything. Didn't do himself any favours at Ipswich, not surprised their fans are glad to see the back of him. He was in rehab with them from the moment he signed and lost his edge imo, just too many off-field issues. He was on big bucks with us and then at Ipswich - and blew it all. If I were a prospective manager, I'd be offering a reasonably low wage but ramp it up with bonusses. That'd help get his mind on his job - goals.
I think he's the type of player we need in the box, Flicker'll sort him out and give him Mellons to be addicted to instead of the gambling like many a fine man
