RE: WHY DID HE LEAVE TO START WITH?

    Morgan delighted with Blades move

Chris Morgan is delighted with sealing a move to Sheffield United so soon after being released by Barnsley.

The 25-year-old defender was released by the Tykes earlier in the week after making 185 league appearances for the club, but took just a day to negotiate a move to the Blades.

Morgan told the club's official website: "There was interest from other clubs, some in the first division, but as soon as I heard United were interested it was no contest really.

"Barnsley did offer me a new deal but, understandably, football being what it is at the moment it wasn't what I was hoping for.

"In the end the club and I agreed that it might be better for all concerned if I was to draw a line under things and move on now rather than leave on a free next summer.

"Everyone in the game knows how fantastically well United did last season. They have always been a good club with solid support and I have played against them at all levels through the years since I was youngster. It's very flattering to be wanted by them."

According to John Dennis, he wasn't offered a new contract.

    I agree.

Too much heart can be a bad thing.

But you can never get too much head.

    he's stated in interviews

that he was unhappy with certain things at the club such as the way the club was run and that it was no fun

If we had him we would be a stronger team

might bring on Williams Tonge Atkinson etc as someone they could learn alot from were as Kay Reid Hassell are all the same age group an older head might be what the team is lacking.

I'd rather see him playing for us than them. He's easily good enough for us right now and the division we're in, plus, he's Barnsley through and through.
