Jay are you the giddy 1 that sits just behind me in the ponty 1 row from the back?? Everytime he does this turn the guy goes crazy in a good way. Its pure class. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Best striker we've had in last decade. He has some crap games playing for us but on the whole he's a beast at holding it up, and 15 goals says it all, in a top half team he'd get 20+. Praying he stays tbh, but I hope we test the depth of your pockets if you do come for him. You'll probably get him 500k though knowing our history of selling players.
He's our POTY. Our talisman. Whenever he's had a partner up top, he's looked a top quality Championship centre forward. Scores and creates. Works as hard as you'd hope he would. He's a modern day, mobile target man. So highly rated was he at Rochdale, that their fans say he was better than Lambert, Alfie, Murray, Holt etc. They know their strikers, bless em. He's a big lad, but he's not as slow as you'd expect him to be, or, as slow as some of our supporters say he is. He's got decent feet, okay technique and as Jay points out, the COG turn is a wonderful little tool at his disposal. He's been doing it for years wherever he's been playing, yet he pulls it off 90% of the time with the defender completely 'done'. His build, his physique is a bit of an issue as limited footballers (named Tom) see him as just a big lovely person to kick it towards. But that wastes COG and his abilities. He's much more at ease with balls into feet. His link play with Dagnall last season, and in patches with Pedersen and Noble-Lazarus this time around is lovely to see. He brings others into play. Unfortunately, this season at least, those others have let him down all too often. Much of his hard work has gone unnoticed. His big weakness for me (and many others) is the tendency he has to drift wide left. It's not that he gets no joy by doing it, he does at times, but it didn't work for us this season. It encouraged us to play through Tom Kennedy. He's everything you hate in a full back. I won't bore you with the reasons why. But aye, 90% of our game plan came down to us using Kennedy as some kind of quarterback. As though it was Beckham on the ball, Gerrard maybe, someone who could pick a pass from anywhere on the field. Tom struggles to see a yard in front of him. His tactic nine times out of ten was to **** himself, take the safety first option and float it down the wing for COG (playing as a lone striker) to chase, hold up, then he or another player would cross for nobody in the box to not get on the end of. Breathtaking stuff. Like watching Brazil. If he ends up at Portman Road with our Mick, I'd accept it more than most other possible destinations. He and McG would be a scary looking proposition in next seasons Championship. So long as we're getting good money for him, I'd wish him all the good will in the world. How are you, financially? What sort of fee could we be looking at here?
Wouldn't like to say on here but Mick's had them both watched regularly. If O'Grady does go then I'd rather he goes to a club like Ipswich where I feel the manager will get the best out of him. He's the sort of player that needs to be playing regular games & needs a partner
It's funny you say that, when I heard of a striker for Wednesday called O'Grady I fully expected to see a pale kid with an Irish accent. Got a bit of a shock
Saw him over the bank hol in Darton, he's going nowhere, happily settled there and he's just about to buy a new Capri.
Fair enough. Cheers for the response. Certainly an interesting, we've heard nothing around these parts regarding Hogan.
Mick loves stealing our better players on the cheap so it wouldn't be a surprise. You've got Nouble though for a target man
Poor mans Craig Davies, LoL. Another trier with limited ability but looks good in weak side like ours, will play maybe 10 games for ITFC if you sign him, all from the bench before going out on loan. Without his missed penalty against Doncaster we might have stayed up........
Think every team has their "what if" moments from the season. What about Donny being on course to beat Charlton, game gets abandoned and they lose the replay.
