Really sound bloke. Spent a fair bit of time in his company over the years so feel semi-qualified to share that opinion. Doesn’t take any nonsense. Builds a great environment and appreciates a football club isn’t just him and 11 players. Anyone suggesting he cashed his way to success at United is playing with the facts a little. We had a similar bloke in Hecky but such is life.
https://archive.is/up8gY Telegraph broke the news. I wouldn't be surprised with them if it was more too do with disagreeing about budget/transfers than anything else. If it was because he lost the play off final surely he would have been gone already.
Sacking him for football reasons would be bonkers. Not sure what else he could have done in the playoff final. They absolutely battered Sunderland for most of the game.
Look, we could replicate this by pulling somone out of the top corner in the Ponty end for the passion, putting them in a clean tracky and giving them a NASA budget.
Quite extraordinary that an official supporters trust of a football club consider that an owner spending less of their own money to subsidise a loss making club to be financial mismanagement!
I’m surprised that the EFL think it’s appropriate to hold an official meeting with a supporters club, when there is still an owner at the club.
Meanwhile in S6 as Andy reports Did Burys supporters trust manage to approach the efl with a meeting prior to being thrown out of the league. ? Apparantly not. Bury FC's supporters trust did make multiple attempts to contact the EFL with their concerns and proposals, including a meeting prior to the club's expulsion from the League. They sent letters to the EFL and requested a meeting to discuss the situation, but were not granted one until after the official decision was made. Fair and proper my arse. EFL Perspective on SWFC’s Situation • NC and Trevor Birch (TB) acknowledged SWFC’s situation but the EFL’s priority is club survival and regulatory compliance. • The EFL has seen similar cases and will work to facilitate a sustainable outcome, albeit will be limited in what it can say publicly due to the confidential nature of Club financial information • The EFL acknowledged the further evidence from the Trust on Mr. Chansiri’s financial situation but found no current grounds for owner disqualification under the Owners & Directors Test.
Sounds a little familiar. United are keen to press ahead with more “data-driven” recruitment, which includes the use of artificial intelligence. This week United signed the Nigerian winger Ehije Ukaki from the Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv, a move made by the winger Christian Nwachukwu, 19, in January. In the same window United signed Jefferson Cáceres, 22, from the Peruvian club FBC Melgar but neither Nwachukwu nor Cáceres has made a first-team appearance. The Blades are one of several Championship clubs searching for a manager, with Middlesbrough, Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City also seeking to fill vacancies.
