On Christmas Day we always have a special Curry Day Hubby can't eat any poultry, game etc He really dislikes Dinners! Strange, I know, for a proud Yorkshire Lad but that's it! Everyone, gets to choose what they want from whichever Curry place For me, the Goa Spice Vindaloo is unbeatable along with their Mixed Kebab Starter and Vegetable Rice, also my favourite dish, Bombay Aloo. Can't fault the curries at this fabulous Indian Takeaway in Mexborough Tomorrow I'm cooking a full Christmas Dinner for my sister and I With some Prosecco to help me cook!
Vindaloo, couldn't eat you if I wanted to. Vindaloo, much hotter than a Saag Aloo. Gimme Gimme Gimme a Naan after midnight...
40 day aged beef from Cannon Hall Farm. It's been a winner for the past three years in our household.
In the absence of any available Goose (local fresh or even frozen ones) here it is duck for us... albeit a frozen one from the only Chinese supermarket in the area. Damn fine duck though and reared in Hungary. Only downside is I am not sure of how good animal welfare is there. Phew. Curiosity got the better of me and I found this.. " Farmers will be receiving a total of HUF 3.156 billion for poultry, HUF 1.68 bln for pork and HUF 1.8 bln for breeding sows. Some 2,370 poultry producers and 1,540 pig farmers are participating in animal welfare programs. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Hungarian State Treasury states that, in the current COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that farmers have sufficient liquidity, therefore the payments to those entitled to them should be payed as soon as possible. Hungary is one of the few countries that subsidies farmers to encourage the provision of animal welfare conditions beyond EU conditions.
I absolutely love turkey. Yes, it can be dry - just don’t overdo it. Lashings of gravy, made with juices from the meat, water from the par-boiled parsnips, and thickened. Whatever veg people like and hopefully enough leftovers for sandwiches the day after.
