I'm sure it has - but Rowing appeared in April to suggest that all Hill had to do was keep us in The Championship to maintain his budget - he has done that, then seen his most creative player sold, and he can't even use those funds to replace him. Needs a change at the top imho.
Tha reyt Merlin. If at least SOME of the money had gone to improving facilities (THAT FU*KING SCOREBOARD) then I think a lot of us would understand that we weren't chucking cash about in transfers. I just don't understand how £1.3m (or around there) and £500,000 from last season equates to covering a £750,000 from loss of TV. *****.
I don't really get the Butterfield comment What if he'd signed a new contract then as was apparently quite possible if Norwich hadn't come in? What would we have done then? What do we do next year? Hope we can sell Silva for £2m (when Liverpool probably get half)? Pray? And what if it had gone to tribunal and we'd only got £500k? And as others have pointed out, surely with players like Gray, Doyle and McEveley leaving that's roughly £750,000 saved? Yes we've signed other players but I bet on less money overall.
