'the big nancy needs to suck it up a bit' It's a mental illness. The clues in the title. It's like telling someone with a broken leg to stand up and get walking, it'll be Reyt, it'll just hurt a bit. I've a good friend who's very well paid who has it. He'd swop any trappings of wealth he has accrued to 'be normal' (his words not mine).
Very wide of the mark mate, tbf. I can see where you're trying to come from, but mental illness doesn't understand money
I know all about mental illness i've lost two very close friends to depression and two more who've been sectioned and will never be well again. But i know the two main things that started off the illness was money worries and Women. Clarke Carlisle seems to have both of these... Suppose everyone is different and one persons troubles may seen trivial to anothers
Gary Speed had everything a bloke could have hoped for ......... from the outside. You clearly don't know what you're talking about and should keep unhelpful assumptions and opinions like that to yourself. Mental illness is mental illness, regardless of wealth, profession, lifestyle, etc.
Lost one of my best pals a few years ago to suicide. Hung himself in the garden, from a tree. Left his missus and two boys. I can't ever recall him being even a bit down in the dumps in all the years I knew him. Was a jolly lad. But after the event, I was told by his close family that he'd been ill for years and had tried it before. World's hard at times for all of us. But every brain/mind is unique. I'm not condoning drink driving, and if indeed Carlisle has thrown himself in front of a lorry, I can't help but feel that's a strange way of trying to kill yourself. But then, he wouldn't have been in a 'normal' state of mind, would he? Difficult topic to discuss.
And its also woefully overlooked when it comes to funding within the NHS and social care. Still has a stigma attached when it really needs giving the same attention as any other medical illness or condition. I can't even begin to imagine what Carlisle was going through.
Yh. He was a countdown contestant . A Pretty smart bloke and a family man who through his own admission lost almost everything including most if his brass, which cant have helped his mental state. He certainly had a few demons .
If anyone understood mental illness then no one would be stuck in this conundrum? if you've never suffered how can you ever understand?
Great questions fishy. But from someone who has suffered and probably will for the rest of my life - telling someone to pull their socks up, is one of the worst things a sufferer can hear
You claimed to know all about it and stated women and money are the main reasons for it. I know you're wrong, I understand that much. It's much more complex than saying this or that causes it, there's sometimes no particular reason for it. The human brain is an organ, it can become ill, just like every other part of your body.
how do you know i am wrong? thats a fairly bold statement you must know my mind and everyone else's to ever suffer from mental illness? i said everyone who i know who have suffered their main grumbles have been money and women!!
I've re-read your post and still think you're wrong. Unless I'm misreading it. But you're initial post in the thread would suggest to me that maybe I am reading it right and you're just changing tack.
