Only not first choice as once he signalled his intent to leave Ferguson publicly stated he was going in a different direction and benched him, walks into any side in this league
I fancied Rotherham to do well next season because of Steve Evans but Clarke Harris could be the icing on the cake for them.
I feel we have missed a trick on him. 114 goals in 239 games over last 6 seasons 5 of which were at league 1 level. Our board/scouting team- we have Watters Shaw and Dallas to fall back on.
It seems like every time another club signs a player, it’s another excuse to give our board a kicking
Rov have a proven manager who despite some people's warnings is a character and a figure in the game. Surely that goes some way to attracting players to the club ... apart from money of course. We, on the other hand, have a spreadsheet.
We've signed nothing, we've no head coach, retained list not published, teams are active and getting organised bringing players in, no update on head coach despite being told "coming days" it's hardly positive at present is it? Has it not occurred there's a real concern amongst a large section of supporters of how we will fair in a very very tough league ? So when a promotion candidate brings in a very good player for this level there's bound to be frustration
Not saying he’s a bad player. Just for someone expressing a desire to leave, Rotherham’s a bit of a sideways move. I’d have thought a club like Birmingham would have snapped him up on a free.
Had moves to Charlton and Bristol Rovers lined up but collapsed in last window, would like us to have gone in for him, we may well have who knows but he's back at Rotherham
I’ve said earlier in this thread that he will do well at rovrum and he will always score goals in this league but if we are wanting to get back to the high press, absolutely no way can he do that. He barely moves.
I don't believe it's "amongst a large section of supporters", or even "amongst a large section of supporters" on this BBS. Just the ones who are always 100% negative about all things BFC related. Call me a Happy Clapper, but I prefer a pragmatic realist.
He’ll have to occupy the space in the middle of the park whilst Cosgrove, Jalo, Connell and Phillips are all working their nuts off (providing they’re all still here).
Using the term realist and choosing to ignore the reality is slightly contradictory is it not? Where credit is due I'll always give, you can look back on here for that and where moaning is done for the sake it's tiresome, but it's a ***tshow at present
We don't have to look very hard to find reasons to criticise, the board make it pretty easy. Its almost like they don't have a clue what they are doing.
Just for some context, every pre season is a **** show, not that it’s even pre season yet, this one’s not even finished for some. **** show when we lost out promotion to the Prem 3 seasons ago, as we lost coach and players. **** show when we got relegated and burned through who knows how many managers in a season. **** show after losing at Wembley and losing Duff and our whole back 3. it’s just another **** show in a procession of **** shows really. problem is, we tend to compare ourselves with clubs that seem to be doing better but there are loads doing far worse if you look down.
