He does that after every match we don't win lately. He worded it differently today by saying in not so many words that players are playing for their future here and will be gone in January.
I was worried what the reaction might be if we got thrashed today, after another terrible performance. Well, apart from it not quite being a thrashing, its clear now what the majority of our fans are thinking. This Intl break week (before the next League game), might be coming just at the right time for him and us, a bit of time apart etc!.
Just listen to Gary O’Neils interview after the wolves game today - massive contrast to what Clarke said. “The responsibilities is me. Of course players can make mistakes, but I need to find something that gives them the opportunity to make better decisions then they made today” . That’s how you go about it.
Why do we make things difficult and or restrictive? It's absolutely suicidal, I agree with what your saying, I just despair at the amount of self inflicted destruction.
Seemed fairly even handed to me. Only saying what people said on here, giving the ball away, soft defending etc., then also saying it's up to him and his team to sort it out, 'no passing on responsibility', which ultimately it will be.
This in spades, most of our ‘problems’ are caused by ourselves, poor passing and positioning. Lack of understanding etc
Ask yourself, why did our form dip dramatically last season so we barely scrapped into the play offs and we only got 6th place due to our early away form. Our home form this season has barely improved under Daryl Clarke and we lost our top scorer(Cole) left winger(Cadden) on loan striker (McAtee,) and one of our better midfield players(Kane) in the summer. Cosgrove, Watters, Mcatee and Marsh did nothing if note last season and unsurprisingly this has continued this season. We have replaced them with Marc Roberts(no complaints but slowed down alot and he never was quickiest), Gent (inexperienced young lad) DKD( looks lost in his role) Humphrys (not fit yet and Jalo(young and recovering from shoulder injury). Our headcoach keeps shuffling the pack in an effort to find a winning formation and playing players out of position. The pressing game which brought us some success has gone out of the window as as our fight (remember Mc Atee sliding in sometimes to block defenders clearing the ball) and set piece tactics seem limited......... Can Daryl Clarke keep blaming the players instead of working out a system that suits what players he has got at is disposal? Well we shall see but it's going to take the whole posse of coaches and the squad to get their fingers out and get it sorted including Connor Hourihane who was hired as a player /coach not coach. There are players older than him still playing including our own Marc Roberts, a certain Barry Bannon and in a higher league and others. We shall see...
If you're annoyed by what he's saying about our lads on the field mate, you should see what our fans are saying about them on here and twitter!
Lee Gregory 6 goals in 8 games Mansfield sitting 3rd on 20pts exactly the type of player we'd never sign. The whole hourihane thing looks a PR thing he'll be registered and paid as part of the staff wages keeping him off the playing budget.
Exactly the type of player we needed in the summer, someone with some success at this level whilst also being good enough.
This infuriates me. My 11 year old has moved up to 9v9 this season and despite training once per week, some of the players in his team can put some fantastic balls into the penalty area. On the flip side, BFC have a buch of so called professional footballers training 5 times per week who can't make simple passes or deliver a decent cross.
My daughter played at u 18 level with a girl who could swing in a corner on either foot right onto the penalty spot, with pace. These are pros who can’t beat the first defender. It’s unforgiveable.
