To be fair isn’t a bit of a case of getting what you wished for? There were loads of threads on here with people wanting Clarke out.
No, let's hope they find a new buyer very quickly and do one. They can't keep funding these losses, they can't keep making such **** ups without being questioned, they ain't getting any return on their investment and at some point I think they will have to cut and run before it gets really messy. Take a nominal amount and move on is what they should do.
Yeah I think it was disgraceful how some couldn't wait to stick the knife in with Collins. And also how these owners dealt with sacking him. And now when you look at what's happened since...
Someone who actually knows what they're ******* doing. These owners are making such a mess of running this football club. We have Neerav telling us we can't keep sustaining these losses but hang on, they've allowed moron Mladen to sack Collins around 12 months ago and Clarke this season, I'd suggest both departures likely resulting in significant pay outs. They've allowed moron Mladen to assemble a huge unblanced squad with some absolute ***** in it on decent wages. They also allowed him to oversee the disastrous January transfer window when it would have been better to do no business than bring in the players we have. Two of those players can't even get in the match day squad FFS. The French lad looks like he's a Sunday league player. I could go on and on, but when you have Neerav telling us Mladen is going a good then we have a right to be extremely concerned. Basically there will come a point where they can't keep funding the club because they've allowed us to get into such a financial mess. They should be looking to find a buyer, accept a nominal sum and move on because they sure as hell aren't going to get any return on their investment.
Maybe hes sort of agreeing with you Shep, in principle, that they are dreadful and do need to go. Because this is getting worse by the month now with them in charge, and its showing no signs of getting better. But obviously though we can't get away from the idea that we're stuck with them, apparently. And that there's absolutely nobody else out there, who might be interested. And hey let's not forget the 'be careful what you wish for', argument against it as well.
I wouldn't get rid of Hourihane now, I just wouldn't. Not that Im overly concerned with who's in charge as I think it makes marginal difference and am disillusioned anyway. Went to the Exeter game however and I thought there were some green shoots on the pitch (yes, I know the pitch was grass but you know what I mean). Apparently, there were some positives today as well, despite the scoreline. The team is still crap of course but there's enough there to tell me Hourihane isn't dreadful and he might end up being ok. Save money and keep him on for now. Give him 3/4 of a season at least like Collins and Clarke. Might as well because ultimately the problem of coach isn't the main problem is it? There are loads of issues going on but in a nutshell they boil down to two - Sormaz and Parekhs support for Sormaz. Until Sormaz is removed things are very unlikely to improve and costs are likely to worsen as more kak is recruited into the club, paid stupid wages and ultimately released for minimal or no return. Neerav looks to me as if he's been sold a pup by the data which again suggests to me that Sormaz is spinning things and deceiving him in order to curry favour and justify his own kak- building skills. Someone at the club needs to sit Neerav down and tell him that just because someone has a decent xg or any other decent stat on paper it doesn't mean they're actually any good in real life, particularly at this level. Until Neerav thinks and changes his attitude towards Sormaz the same problems will drain the club's soul. Sormaz is an anti-BFC cancer in human form. The guy is a placebo that doesn't work as a placebo. He's an Emperor with even less clothes than the original. He's a better con-man than con-way. He does more fiddling than Nero ever did. In short, I dont have any time for him. Keep Hourihane for now and don't use him as another excuse.
Sacking Collins or Clarke wasn’t the problem it was the timing and with what replacement - if we had sacked Collins and recruited Nathan Jones for example we wouldn’t be sitting around now talking about results, we would probably be defensively solid and grinding out results against most teams in the league at least being competitive
I'm not sure what to expect then, and where we should set the bar to, for next season. If we do give the job to Conor, I'm thinking it will be the wrong decision unfortunately. Mid table mediocrity perhaps, or maybe even a relegation scrap. And bear in mind, its still mostly a poor Division Three. I blame the players more than anybody else here, for getting our two recent managers sacked. They are capable of much better, but some do definitely need to go as they are just appallingly bad. And whether they 'respect' Conor or not, I don't want us to take a chance on a rookie appointment. Regardless of whether he would be cheap and whether he used to be a fan favourite.
Sounded like Clarke couldn’t run a bath, lack of discipline and fitness was pretty obvious from the second half displays.
But things have got worse since he went. Rotherham sacked Evans and are suddenly flying…..be above us next week. Blame can hardly be on Clarke, problems are way beyond him. If only things were that simple.
Clarke was trying to get his own fitness coach in because he wasn’t happy with the state of the players. Have you got any evidence of a lack of discipline? Or is it just one player been late to one meeting after Clarke left & you’re adding 2 & 2 together & getting 98?
