4x4's count as public transport don't they. Size of a bus, huge plumes of diesel particulants whenever they change gear and they certainly sound the same.

Those open back 4x4 'trucks' are good as mobile bins too, I'm always chucking my rubbish in the back of them.

Where do Australia come into this, as they've not signed up to any agreements, and I think the UK are well up there

    Rubbish

We are way down the order. It's everybody else that's ruining this planet.

But I didn't mention Norway....do you still get acid rain from the UK? Don't seem to hear about that these days.

RE: When they stop cows farting

Time to give up your 4 x 4 then.

We have that one nailed. Been all over the news, colleagues of mine have discoverd if you feed them garlic extracts you reduce methane production.

And actually cows dont fart they belch

due to the amount of variables

in atmospheric pressure, windspeed, oceanic currents, solar activity/magnetic forces and ozone layer, the only possible solution is to call captain planet

    hes our hero

gonna reduce pollution down to zero (bustin)

Any individual can't really make a difference.

Whether I turn a light off, wash at 30 degrees and recycle the newspaper is irrelevent when comparing my footprint to that of any business.

I've 12 strip lights in my office and it's only about 4m x 8m. A single bulb would do but health and safety says...... In Winter it's like a furnace and they make me play on my computer all day when I'd be quite happy taking a nap or a walk round.

I know it's an exaggeration and I am actually in control of some of the above but you get the gist. Can an individual really save the planet???

Interisting counter view in todays Sunday Torygraph

Apparantly the guys writing that paper that Stuppa refers to - although happy to point out that solar emissions had fallen err forgot to mention than since 1998 so has the global temperature. In fact data produced by NASA showns the global temperature has now fallen to 1983 levels.
The graphs used to support the Climate change caused by CO2 conveniently stopped at 2000

Not saying that this is any more conclusive than the other view but to quote Christopher Brooker

" Far from being settled, the debate is just beginning to get really interesting"
