There's always examples of good and bad on either side. Tammy Abraham hadn't before his move. Ryan Kent hadn't even played a match I don't think. Likewise there's probably loads that have scored but would be *****. I'm happy to wait and see who we bring in and how they do. Some may be world beaters and some may be *****. Won't judge them on what they have or haven't done before, only what they do if they sign for us. Edit: forgot to say no he hasn't scored!
I couldn't agree more. Had Ashley Fletcher played a senior game before his loan move to us? Rashford almost joined Crewe on loan the week before he scored for United in the Europa League, the rest is history. The lack of first team experience doesn't necessarily make someone any more of a gamble than an established player as we've had many a player with bags of experience who has been utter garbage.
Not slagging him off in any way. I'm pretty meh either way. Swansea fans seem to think he has something though his scoring record on loan is pretty poor. One for the future maybe. We need someone from the now. Another big ask to make that someone him though not impossible that he will be able to pull it off.
For every one that turns out to be good, there are 10 that are ****!! We have had some proper ***** from Man Utd as well as Fletcher & Nardiello !
Didnt think you were, just meant to answer that he hadn't scored in prem, but that may not make him a bad signing necessarily. He may be amazing. He may not be. If we get him let's hope more Tammy Abraham than Adam Armstrong. Or More Ashley Fletcher than Nick Proschwitz
He joined Man Utd from Atherstone, but he was only at Old Trafford one season and never played in their first team. Always remember his goal at Bramall Lane when we won there one season.
I don't ever remember Rammell scoring at blunts lane. Saville got a last minute winner there under Machin during our escape when he first joined.
You're right MT. I was there on corporate with a Sheffield Plumbers Merchant Cowen Barrett. I'd knocked back a tour of their dressing room and a chance to meet their players and much to their annoyance leapt up and clapped when Sav's winner went in. Had their beer and snap though. They never invited me again after that.! Thinking about it I've been to a couple of away games where we needed something to survive as well. We won 1-0 away at Middlesbrough in 1992 ( Super John played for them) and again 1-0 at Mansfield. I remember Brian O'Callagan got the only goal and Glyn Hodges was the temporary boss. That was 1993 I think. We are getting comments on our present team on the board but thinking back they were really bleak times.
Best years for me. I loved Mad Mel's team. Taggart and Fleming were both fantastic footballers and good lads. Miss those days.
Both would walk into today's side. I also think Andy Saville would be a good partner for Bradshaw personally. Possibly even now, aged 56.
