Quality over quantity is the key all day long.
Take this season Schmidt, Thomas, Wilkes have added nothing to us whereas one quality player may have made a big difference.

I forgot about Malik Wikes , allegedly a fee of around 1.3 million paid out for his services , that went well , my point is , irrespective wether the signings are a success or not , the point is we do pay out fees for players & our ranks are not filled with free transfers from pemier league academies etc etc

I think Thomas will come good if he's played in his correct position. No one expected these young lads to hit the ground running and with another season behind them Thomas, Chaplin, Styles, Odour, Halme, Collins, Palmer Simoes and Anderson could form part of a great team. Time will tell but in terms of return on investment it could well turn out to be the best transfer window ever lol

That's the problem, you're right no one did expect that to happen. I fully believe that our owners signed these players duly aware of what it meant for us on the pitch

I'm undecided with Thomas but it wouldn't surprise me if he did come good at some point.
Fact remains if you pool the costs of signing him and a couple of others we could have signed someone who maybe could have hit the ground running and made a difference.

No one expected??? I think the board did well they either expected them to or they really don't care what division we are in.

That's the problem, perhaps a season in league 1 will blood these players in, but at the end of it all theyll get sold off and there will be next to no continuity or opportunity to build on that progress.

They don't have to allow the club to spend beyond its means they just have to recognise they don't know everything learn from their many mistakes and show a bit more humility and admit those mistakes and start listening to people who know football in this country. They need to recognise that less is sometimes more when it comes to quality over quantity

Without meaning to sound churlish, if that had happened we wouldn't be having a discussion about the effectiveness of this board. Add to that the disgraceful, claptrap 21 word statement on Stendel's departure, the complete lack of respect towards a man that brought us some of the most exciting football in years and a promotion to boot, and shoehorning players that contributed to that promotion into the U23s, never to be seen again, besides the slippery methods they use to absolve themselves of everything that has gone wrong in the last twelve months, I would say they have a lot to answer for.

It's cumulative. If they can take an annual five figure fee out of a seven figure business, they're running at probably 6-8%, which is a much better return than interest is at the minute. If you have money, put it in steady businesses and spread the risks. We're a marginal return paid off by other investments they currently own, with the potential to be a massive return if/when they get it right. It's not really a pressing issue to them to get it right asap.

Probably have to have a firesale to fund litigation against the EFL if our board sue over the lack of action
to punish Derby and Wednesday. Makes you smile to see Paul Conway claim that the actions of these cheats
are stifling investment. Could be in a real mess if we lose the action and we have to cover our own and the EFL's
    costs.

They've got hardly much big wealth therye bluffers. Therye earning a salary out of football clubs, 100k here 100k there for them no one notices. Things wont change, extra money wont be given to improve and compete in championship it's just a job to them. I wished I earned what they get by bulls*****g everyone, It's so obvious, and where the f*** has chien gone just waiting for conman to sell a player and drop 100k off on sly.fun and games.

With respect, it's easy to be critical after the fact. Schmidt may have been an unknown, but Thomas and Wilks had terrific games against us when we were up against them in League One. I was chuffed to bits when we signed them. If it's not worked out for them, it's because we've been shoehorning them into a system that doesn't suit their talents. We basically bought two exciting wide midfielders and a bloke who can get on the end of a decent cross, and then played a narrow formation that delivers no meaningful crosses. Bonkers.

Think the biggest failing was probably selling Moore.
