Owt for Nowt?!! It's an investment! The club desperately needs to get fans back on board, and as the league position doesn't seem enough (something which also baffles me), I don't see the harm in initiatives that could well set the ball rolling. As for owt for nowt - I personally raised almost £1000 for the Reds and walked to Chesterfield in the hour of need. I'd pay to go to any game - it's not me who needs cajoling - it's the other 15,000 or so Reds who seem to have forgotton where Oakwell is, and don't go away either.
RE: Owt for Nowt?!! You have got the wrong end of the stick there mate.
I was merely making a point that at least once a day this board comes up with free incentive to get fans back to Oakwell or so we can take 6000 fans to Oldham. What I am saying is the club doesn't have the funds to make such a gamble.
The message wasn't a dig at your idea just a comment based on Cheaper tickets for home matches and other ideas as well.
What gets me is that some people write ideas on here merely to make it cheaper for them to attend. In all honesty why should the stayaways get it cheaper than us who have gone all season and shelled out week in week out?
The only way to get the fans back to Oakwell or to attend away games in to get promoted....purely and simple.
Sorry for disagreeing like

RE: Owt for Nowt?!! I'm no fan of the stay aways either, but like it or not the club NEEDS to think of incentive schemes to get them back - and doing something now, which could help us achieve promotion has to be worth a gamble. I know times are still hard, but if we have a couple of grand spare to help Rotherham out (which I have no objection to), then an investment in our fans & our team for one game has to be worth a try. Maybe the other fans who have made similar suggestions are like me - they would go to games regardless, but see the need for the club to help people to jump on the bandwaggon..... we all know that's what it is, but like it or not we need our part timers before the season's out. Bigger crowds would make a massive difference to the team & the bank balance.
RE: Owt for Nowt?!! As the club is a business can I use this analogy?
Tesco hit a lot of financial trouble in a few years time and the administrators come in. The quality of the food drops and people start to use Morrisons instead. The amount of people shopping at Tescos now drops to less than 1/2 of what it had.
Will Tesco's start to lay on free taxis for all the people to go to the shop instead of them going to Morrisons?
Would people use it even if the products weren't as good?

RE: Well... "Chris Taylor and his team" - So he's the star man now is he? Has he been made captain yet?
