My new towels are getting cheaper by the minute 15 percent off when I bought em now cost of my ticket back. I may start buying household goods instead of going to matches more regularly.

Very nice gesture. But dangerous precedent. As fans we've got to accept that sometimes we're going to be absolutely garbage and when we pay for a ticket, particularly for an away game, there's a good chance we'll lose. One of the two teams usually does.

Not that I begrudge anyone who went to Crawley receiving a refund, particularly those who travelled from oop North. It showed a lot of dedication after the week we'd had and they deserved better than they got.

I think the board realise they're not very popular with a large section of the support at the moment, so they've done something to get people back on side. I'm not against them doing that, far better this than just ignoring the situation, but I hope they've also taken the criticism on board and this gesture is in addition to a rethink about their strategy not instead of one.

What about the last home game? I only come from Poggy but I know of at least two gents who travel an awful lot further.

It should be the players paying out of their pockets. That would mean more to the fans.

Re: thats a very good gesture, but did anyone pay cash on the gate ?

Yes we were given a ticket at the turnstiles. Which I just been and fished out of the bin :)

fortunately I threw it away when I got home rather than when leaving the ground

This wasn't any old defeat though was it. It was a total second half capitulation against a team that were in the Conference 4 years ago and were bottom with the worst goal difference in the division. I likened it in magnitude last night to the 7-0 defeats v Reading in 1979 and WBA in 1989 and hoped, like those, that it would be a watershed in our fortunes. Arguably, given the circumstances and opposition, it was actually worse than those games.

Totally corect matey... I have intimated this in a couple of other threads too

Its kinda like giving the Natives coloured beads and bottles of fire water to keep them quiet so they miss out on the bigger picture.

It was much worse than those games. Both Reading and WBA were decent midtable teams, Crawley aren't. I didn't go to the Reading game but I was at WBA. Crap, but I've seen worse. I'm really struggling to think of a worse result than the one yesterday.

But this refund isn't being offered because we were monumentally *****. We've all seen that dozens and dozens of times, particularly in the last decade or so. It's being offered to deflect the criticism currently levelled at the board and the owner. That doesn't take away from the fact that it's a good thing to do, but it doesn't suddenly make everything alright. In my opinion the club has been mismanaged for years and a refund after a poor performance, as nice as that gesture is, doesn't alter any of that in the slightest.

I'd imagine it's because this is the worst defeat in recent history, certainly the worst in my 17 years watching BFC. I look forward to reclaiming my refund, I just hope it's the players that are paying and not the club, unlikely though.
