You say it’s a tad frosty?.....you need to read chronicle then where Clarke is praising the hard work done by the recruitment staff. If Clarke is so called frosty and as a problem with Mladen then he has funny way of showing it. Two faced comes to mind. Instead of praising the recruitment he should have said what he really thinks, like I have said in previous post, he likes to be portrayed as a straight talking bloke, well if that’s case then he needs to tell it as it is .

When asked this question what was expected of him to say that was different from what he said? Alternatively did they expect " we're going to sack Clark and bring in Mourinho" sinking us further in debt.?

 

Oh come on, I'm not saying you are wrong but if Clarke didn't tow the party line and spoke his mind they'd sack him for undermining them, don't be naive it's the same in most work places we might think/say our boss is a **n* in our heads but wouldn't say it out loud would we?

 

Does anybody in a position of any authority actually say what they really think? I dont think so. Diplomacy/hedging bets/spin is always the way. If Sormaz had said 'Im actually useless and can't get players in' would that have been acceptable to folk (not that Im suggesting it is)? Or how about Clarke - 'Ive been shafted by the board and the recruitment is proper pap'. That may be what he thinks but equally who knows what he thinks? He might be happy. Sormaz might be happy.
The only things I do know are I've not been happy for a while and Ill wait and see how the team performs with these new guys. No speculation from me. I'll use my own eyes and judge things accordingly.

 

Not being naive mate and I get your point. But he had no need to mention they had done a great job, he would have known he was kidding himself by saying it, sometimes saying nothing at all is better than saying owt.

 

This to me was nothing more than an attempt at a PR stunt.
They will be fully aware of their position right now with the backlash on here and across other platforms, they are very activate in coming on here and gaging fan reactions to situations.
They've basically got a small window now where they will be very active communicating with fans be all means necessary to smooth things over in the run upto the Early Bird offer telling us how wonderful things will be, sacking Clarke should results not be forthcoming will be plan B,C and D because there's no way they'll be saying sorry we got the window wrong that opportunity has now passed with that interview.

 

He was put on the spot and asked about the recruitment and probably had a split second to respond, option (a) Listen .... the recruitment team have been working hard etc blah blah blah or option (b) it's been w**k they could have done more blah blah

It's very difficult during an interview to not give off bad vibes that might lead to further questions it's called nod, say yes and pretend through gritted teeth we've all been there haven't we?

 

I must have watched a different interview, as I thought it was OK, all things considered.

I think there's more groundswell of opinion that says 'dont sack Clarke' than this time last year with Collins. They've played their 'sack the manager' joker before. I dont think it will appease this time.

 

Put on spot, it was his column in chronicle it wasn’t a live interview!!...He had no need to praise the recruitment team he could have worded it different. Maybe you were a yes man at work mate I don’t know?.....I have always challenged things if thought they were wrong, there’s a way to say things without getting sack you do know.

 

I don’t have a horse in this race, but you’ve posted a random quote with no source which is likely just his investments in India, which won’t include BFC for one. I’d bet it doesn’t include other investments also.

I think it’s also well reported that his Dad is the one with the real money, as opposed to him. He’s just the one managing the funds.

 

I'd agree with that mate, pretty sure fans can see Clarke has been well and truly shafted but another 3/4 bad results and someone has to be the scapegoat and I just don't see them admitting they've got it wrong because it would show their philosophy is broken.

What an absolute piss take that is. Listening to that 40 odd second "interview" I honestly get the impression that it was done as a deliberate 2 fingers up at the fans. "We are mightier than you. We hold all the power. Shut up and do as we say. You want an interview with him? Fine we will technically give you one. You can have the absolute bare minimum possible video which answers nothing, shows how much contempt we hold you in, and says **** you. But it's an interview so shut the **** up, we've technically done what you asked"


Absolutely embarrassing and someone should walk. Whether that's mladen who thinks **** you Barnsley fans, someone else in the board room who suggested it, or even an incompetent media person who did a longer interview and then took the piss only publishing 43 seconds, SOMEONE should lose their job for that absolute piss take of a **** you sent to the fans. Utterly shameful.

You have said it yourself he’s been shafted and 99.9% of us will agree on that. Why he has to go out of his way commending all the so called hard work of the recruitment team is beyond me. Like I say he had no need to praise them them. Should have just said we go with what we have.

 

Not sure what everyone's watched to be losing their heads over 43 seconds perhaps the wrong link has been posted but the actual interview was 10 mins long, think the 43 secs is just a snippet etc

 

I'm going on the link that the absolutely ***** official site posted. If this is yet again an example of incompetence running that site and posting the wrong link then **** them off and get people in who can do the job adequately
