Why would it go to a tribunal? Surely it's got to be agreed between the clubs?

“You just do your best at the end of the day and I feel like I can be proud of what I’ve achieved this season.

“There’s some people who know they’ve not performed at their best, but I know I couldn’t have given any more.”

He's hardly selling himself there is he? To champ teams watching dvd's of him this season. He can't give any more than that?

I genuinely didn't know that people don't rate him, and to be honest I don't understand why they don't.

He's scored 1 in 3 for the worst Barnsley side for a good few years and it's not as if he does b*gger all apart from score. He grafts (sometimes more than he should, especially out on the left), his hold up play is good and he has the O'Grady signature turn which always seems to work.

I can't think of a better striker since we returned to this level (apart from arguably Stan, but he went off the boil a bit) and I think he will be a big loss.

    COG remarks in The Stir..

Don't know how he's got the nerve iv seen endless games where he hasn't preformed and does he realise he's a goal scorer and in the last 4 or more important games didn't do just that yet he thinks he can blame others clearly was never a team player you should never blame anybody else especially when you can't control s ball

Re: COG remarks in The Stir..

I could imagine half a dozen champion sides wanting him at least. Leeds like a target man and could be a good foil with a bit more threat than Mills. Ipswich might be a decent fit and I could see the other bottom half teams sniffing of the ones who survive.

It's a bit bitter sweet for me. He probably should win player of the year in a very poor year. But I do think many of our attacking weaknesses are down to the O'Grady and Kennedy tactic. I doubt it's coached. Similar to the England Crouch effect. Seemed to work now and then but killed all other attacking outlets and meant many a midfielder felt obliged to launch the ball back to front too quickly with no support.

He's very static, creates imbalance by pulling constantly to the left and really it highlighted how poor and one dimensional our central midfield was.

I'd take the money if over £500k gladly and hope we can use some of it to find some mobility up front. Shame in a way. I think he's done his best, but I do believe it would be for the greater good for all.

You stay up as a team and get relegated as a team. Sounds like he's not got the fight, passion or heart to rectify this season by trying to get us back up. His words read very much like he's about to depart the sinking ship. I'm sure he can go sit bench warming somewhere in the championship. I can't see him as a first team regular though. A goals total helped by penalities and he's been goal shy for months. Once he leaves we will just be another club on his CV that he's spent two minutes with. He's going to start looking like a journeyman and not be particularly thought of fondly at any of his former clubs.

I actually thought he was a decent player most of the season. Now I've read this thread I've changed my mind, he's a right bag of *****.

Someone once told me I was easily lead. I agreed with him.

Mark Robins wanted him last summer, but he came to us for less money....Id expect Hudders to come in for him again.

I agree. But I also remember a lot of well thought of BBS'ers using that same line to describe Craig Davies. Those same folk later said he was ****.

I'd have Davies back next season if COG goes. Would have loved em both here this season when we had the chance. But we got Proschwitz.

I would much rather we have had Davies this season. at least he would have spent more time around the opposition area and had a few shots at goal

Best outfield player we've had this season by a mile.

Same as every time we lose one of our best players - "he's ****."

I'm going to start reading about how great Kennedy will be in League One again in a minute.

I liked Craig Davies too. Wasn't impressed with him for the last couple of months, when he'd decided he was leaving, so gave up, but until then I thought he'd been a great signing, handled extremely well by Keith Hill. Don't like Keith Hill (Have I ever mentioned that?) but he did well with Davies.

Can't say I disagree with that assessment. Last few games he admittedly wasn't enjoying great service but he looked lethargic at times and it was reminiscent of Craig Davies just before he left.

Again, the board are to blame for that in giving him that nonsense of a release clause. And then not offering him fresh terms at around the same time they sat idle as Vaz Te and Butterfield lit up the division.

You've got to have faith, back your judgment, and especially the managers.

It's no wonder Keith got fed up of it all.

Wolves and Peterborough offered 750k and 800k respectively for Scott Hogan at Rochdale this season. That's the same Hogan who cost em nowt. They said no. They're now promoted. Had that been us 'in this' division (second tier) we'd have taken the money. Just as we did with Golbourne last Summer, our last sale.

I'd have Davies back in a shot too, although only after checking if he's learnt how to stop the ball bouncing off him. Great finisher with pace to worry opposition. Would love to see him and O'Grady as a pair, but suppose it will never happen.

Re: COG remarks in The Stir..

People seem to be completely confusing "being lethargic and uninterested" with being completely isolated with no players even hinting to offer support to him as he tries to fight off four defenders single-handedly. Easy mistake to make.
