Another good win though we made it more difficult than we needed to. Hopefully we've learnt a lesson from the last 10 minutes and we continue to move forward.
Biggest question for me is why on earth did we need Helik following in the penalty. If there's anything to learn here it's that we probably don't need to go gung ho following in pennos when we are already 2-0 up
Cheer up, Jay. I doubt they're that upset at him, we won 2-1 and he scored both of the goals. The penalty he missed it sounded like he created out of nothing. We're in 5th place. I'm pretty certain everyone's in a pretty good mood right now.
Best team by far first half Luton came out with purpose second half imo and we scored against run of play . Game went a bit flat after that , we surrendered possession easily and criminally at times but could have scored at least on more before the penalty . After pen we went onto dizzy mode but managed to hold out but wtf Frieser did when out through god only knows .
There were a couple of "chats" at the whistle. Val with Alex and Alex with DD. Given the bond that this group have I don't think team spirit will have been affected and I think they will be buzzing like they should after sealing 3 more away points, making club history again and keeping the chasing pack at arms length. If the team spirit is as strong as we all seem to believe it is, they'll be taking the p!ss out of DD from now until he leaves. The intensity of that performance today was immense.
Just getting into readiness for more of the same, because we’ll no doubt have more to come before the season’s end
Any confident striker worth their salt would have taken it especially at 2-0 up with 7 minutes left to play
Agreed. Especially when the designated penalty taker isn't on the field and his replacement nearly shat the bed on Friday.
Subject to Woodrow being on the pitch. Mowatt's pen last time was dire - he seemed to try and kick it at their goalie rather than away from him, so i'm not surprised Dike tried to get his hat trick. He's now proved that he's even worse than Mowatt, but no harm done. Who else can take them?
Hopefully another lesson has been learnt by the youngsters. Looked like Mowatt and DK were gerrin their story reight for the Big man. Am sure Mowatt scored on Friday or am I dreaming this.
