I agree, we were by far the better team. We can't do anything about the referees incompetence though so with that in mind the wrong selection at the back cost us 2 goals and 2 points.
How Flint got away with everything he did in that game, especially the push on Woodrow is just beyond me. As others have said the team will learn from that, and thankfully we don’t need to watch awful cheating Cardiff again
I disagree. We got something from the game which is more than we managed at their place. Saturday we start over.
We rarely beat Cardiff and have never managed to beat a team when Mick’s the manager. We’re cursed! Should’ve been 3-0 and all over but, as ever, it’s never that easy with little old Barnsley. I’m trying to remain positive - we scored two good goals after struggling in front of goal recently. Other than that, I’m quite pissed off. I’ll be able to relax a lot more once we’re over 50 points. Excellent result for Rotherham tonight as it keeps them nicely above Sheff Wed. Fingers crossed we can help them out by beating Forest on Saturday.
I'm going to have to disagree. But of course that's fine. I think with a different ref we would've won the game. I get we can't control him but he, as much as any other player on the pitch influenced the outcome with his performance which is disappointing but the state of play.
As much as I hate Cardiff’s style of play I can’t blame them, falling down at every opportunity as got them a point...it’s the referee who is fully to blame, he let them get away with everything.
It's some time since I've seen Swan Lake and Bambi on ice in the same game, but we have to address these cheats by not being constantly drawn into the "foul" Also despite going 2 up we looked toothless in terms of open play creativity. 2 set piece goals, answered by 2 set piece goals
Ref was wrong quite a few times but not biased. Our second goal for example - hardly a foul on Styles for the free kick that led to the cross for the goal (he gave it) then Woodrow mullers all over their player to get his head on it (not a foul but he could have given it). Their goalie was not fouled for the one that went in first half. Most annoying for me was Brittain and Collins giving Keefer's goal resulting corner away. Grr. But we didn't play on the floor second half. Why just whack it away?
I'm not a big fan of VAR but it would have got a fair result tonight. They only got a draw because of getting a massive leg up by incorrect decisions.
The whacking it has happened a lot these last few games. I’m not sure if it’s when we tire of the press, we just smash it upfield snd hope....
For those that think Sollbauer would have made a difference for those 2 goals just look back at some of the last few we have concede when he has started.
