Yeah, true. But the guy can’t help it, just how he is. Although I suspect he’s one of these people when he’s wound up and angry, he’ll be very clear to all. And will certainly make people know his thoughts.
I very much enjoyed reading that. Whatever we may think of Collins he seems a genuine thoughtful person with a good understanding of what football means to fans.
I must admit I really didn't like his style of play at first, but I think he's been pretty clear that the first half of the season was about finding ways to win football matches with the extremely random set of tools given to him. It's like when you're on holiday abroad in self catering accommodation. The kitchen contains two blunt knives, some pans with lids that don't fit and one gas ring, and the local supermarket only stocks half the ingredients you're used to at home, yet you're still expected to cook up at gourmet meal for 4 on the first night. It's just not going to happen, at least not to the same standard you can do it in your own kitchen. So if you produce something which is reasonably enjoyable to eat then everyone's happy. I've really warmed to him, hopefully he'll be with us for a long time to come.
