    Which makes total sense.

A last dance for him and his bank account before retirement.

Oldham are making a Wrexham style push.

I do genuinely think, if you’re a bigger club, and you don’t push for it with the money in that League, you’ll end up staying there and rotting away. With the stadium and fans dwindling away.

    Oldham being a classic example.

    From this morning's Times:

A story told at a recent Worshipful Company of Vintners dinner about an incident over supper in a convent when Mother Superior tapped her glass. “Sisters,” she said, “I report solemn news. We have a case of gonorrhoea.” To which one of the nuns remarked: “I hope it’s better than this Liebfraumilch.”

Nope. You can get gout anywhere.

    Even in your eye.

Very painful and debilitating. And not easy to treat either.

I got it in my knee. Grinned and bared it for years in my ankles but when it moved into my knees I realised a new level of pain.

That's when I went to Doctors. Not the disease of good living. It's caused by uric acid levels in the blood.

Exercise elevates as does dehydration. Saw my mate in Courthouse this morning. He's been crippled by it. So much so he used a disabled key to go for a ****.

In fairness mate they’ve got to say that, both JN and BFC will pedal their own narrative. Both of which will be littered with ********.

I agree, either he just substituted the word 'fitness' for health or it's an ongoing illness, either way, hope he's back soon!

Don’t be so naive. Collins first said “I think you’ll understand that a lot of the details have to remain private”. THAT was the key comment. You don’t expect Collins to reveal anything that’s gone off between Norwood and his new boss do you? But if it was just a case of Norwood wanting to be closer to home or wanting a longer contract, why the need for that first comment? You’d only say that if something had happened that they don’t want getting out.

Yes, Norwood ultimately chose to move to Oldham, but he didn’t say when that decision was reached or what prompted it.

I imagine the Norwood conversation went as follows - ‘I’ve been offered 3 years on similar money at Oldham, can you match it?’
‘Afraid not, we won’t give you an extension until late in the season after you prove you can still perform at this level & even then it’ll only be one extra year’
‘I’d like to go to Oldham then’

I honestly think it’s that simple. He would’ve happily stayed if we’d match their deal but we won’t so he wants to take the last decent contract he might get. I don’t blame him. He won’t have earned fortunes & he’s a long time retired. I also don’t blame us for not giving him 3 years. My biggest gripe was that he played all the friendlies & the deal was only done 2 days before the season started. I thought it might cause us an issue but lucky it didn’t.

    100% this for me.

Can’t blame the player, and can’t blame BFC either. He’ll be on decent wages too. 3 years for us at his age is too risky. And his previous playing history shows that long term contracts haven’t always worked for his clubs either.

He can get another job when his career on the pitch ends. A contract at Oldham isn't the last chance he will ever have to pay the bills.

To be fair, I was speculating a couple of weeks back, when Watters signed, that Norwoods opportunities would be numbered. Doubted he’d get offered another contract & I’ve got a feeling in me watter, that Cal Jennings might well be coming on loan from the Rowdies in January.. & Norwood would be looking for longer term first team football elsewhere. Though I thought it would be lower league one or two..
Looks like it was a bit of both, but not kicked out like some suggested.. :)

    & don’t worry, I’ll not let Collins get you..

Of course he can but we’ve no idea about his personal circumstances. Might need so much money to set up his own business, clear a mortgage etc before he finishes playing.

There’s also talk of a lengthy driving ban. He might not the option of a local club offering him similar money if he waited another season.
