I expected an inconsistent start to the season with good and bad performances and us being lower half until Jan then gradually improve and finish around 10th outside chance of a flirtation with the playoffs
Until 4 games ago we were exceeding expectations and I was really enjoying this season. Now we have hit a dip due in no small part to too many injuries to key players in particular Winnall and loanee Williams our form collapsed once they disappeared. Still have every chance of meeting expectations we will get through this bad patch and go on a decent run again. Any side that loses 3 of it's back 4, it's best striker and it's midfield dynamo is going to struggle especially when mid rebuild with no depth to the squad yet

I expected us to be top half by Christams, so we're falling a bit short on that. I expected to see a few young uns given game time, which I have and haven't been disappointed by any of them. After seeing the players Wilson signed I wasn't expecting battling performances, I was expecting good football. I've seen quite a bit of that, but not in the last few games.

In the second half of the season - I'm hopeful of a couple of signings in January as the injuries we've got at present have really highlighted how small the squad is. The obvious requirement is a strong midfield player who can tackle and compliment the skilful players we have in the team. If we can get that I'm still expecting a top half finish. However, if we don't achieve that, I won't be throwing any teddies out of the cot.

Beyond that, I'd like to see us challenging for promotion next season. I don't expect us to be running away with the title, but, like you, contenders up around the play-off positions.

Before the Scunny home game the team had met my expectations. I thought they were playing very good football, even when we lost games, and I was enjoying the season. Last few games have been rubbish, but I can accept it for what it is, a dip in form, with injuries to key players a significant contributor in that. I fully expect us to improve again and have a period of good results.

I said we'd be bottom half by Christmas, which we are definitely going to be. Just hope we are not in the bottom 4, as that will put us under extreme pressure.
Could result in a knee jerk sacking with the January transfer window approaching. Need Ramage & Winnall back ASAP.

For me we have to stick with Danny. It has been a poor first year in charge, but I can't see any point making another managerial change.

    Red and White.

We have to stick with a manager, or else we just keep going round and down in an ever decreasing circle. If Wilson is sacked ( and I aint pro or anti `Wilson' like many on here) then I don`t see me joining in the experiments of new managers and spending mi dosh on a season ticket.. I would probably sit back and wait for the glory years to return or my death which ever comes first.

We have very little money yet tend to throw it away paying up rolling contracts, out of favour player contracts and replacing the manager`s coaches etc, it should have its own place on the balance sheet under wastage.

Roll on the derbies and big cup games.

One of the biggest contributing factors of the last 6 years. If not the biggest.

Doing it yet again is and will be barmy. And would seriously question my commitment

I don't have any expectations of them. I jokingly said 1st at start of season in one thread but it was firmly with tongue in cheek. I genuinely didn't know what to expect from this season as I'd not seen many of our squad kick a ball. I hoped we'd be in the top half but based on what I've witnessed so far I'm now just hoping we don't go down.

It is a rebuilding job though. Patience is needed. Danny bought/loaned an entirely new squad in one window, it was always gonna be 50/50 whether it clicked. I am disappointed with how it has panned out generally but we've got to stick with him for this season at least.

so if wilson gets sacked, you're going to completely withdraw support for any other manager? but you're asking everyone to back wilson to the hilt, and claiming the unswerving support has nothing to do with his legend status?

lots of people are saying 'i'd be exactly the same if it was any other manager'. i'm not convinced at all. we'll only see how true that is though, when the next manager eventually comes in. you've already said you won't back the new manager though, for starters..

i'm genuinely not having a pop at you. i just want people to stop blindly defending danny wilson. i'm still behind him, but i also think his return has been a poor one so far. and he needs to pull his socks up, pdq.

Depending on who his replacement would be, I'd lean towards letting Wilson go.

As many others have pointed out, we aren't progressing. If anything we're going backwards. I wouldn't mind us being where we are if we weren't actually good enough, but in my opinion, we have the players to be in the top half. Defensively, we may actually be worse than we ever were in the Championship. Some of the tactics on display leave me baffled. We play so narrow, yet concede so many goals through the middle. Wilson highlighted the need for a target man, brought one in, then played him as an attacking midfielder.

Yesterday was a shocking performance. We created very little, and defensively looked weak. With the exception of a few (Berry & Holgate spring to mind) the players didn't look up for it. I'm not usually for sacking managers, but how can you persist through performances similar to that one?

Its just this moment in time for me and nothing to do with personailities, I ought to have done it 12 months ago really.

I cant see where I have asked anyone to back Wilson in that piece, your eagerness to reply is showing where you stand though.

If a new manager comes in mid season I will see how he starts till my season ticket runs out, then make a decision on renewing. If a new manager comes in during the Summer I will see only the odd game and wait for the improvement before returning to watch regularly. Could be a long wait.

You and others are getting blindingly backing and wanting continuity of management mixed up with quite a few posters.

i just want entertaining, attacking, cohesive football, and to preferably win more than we lose. and i'd love for that to be with danny wilson. that's all i want. but if he proves unable to provide that, i'll eventually want to see him step aside and let someone else try. i'm still backing him for now, because i think he needs longer. and i don't want his legend status to end in shreds. but i don't think he's been good enough so far, and that support won't last forever.

that's where i stand - and i personally don't think there's anything blind about it

Cant recall saying you were blind, that were you stating others were, perhaps I should have put the blindingly backing as a quote.

This season to me has been like so many other seasons up and down performance wise.
