RE: there lies the problem. i support the club, but have no faith in the manager nt You've got it wrong! You support the whole package or nothing at all.
RE: It all depends on expectations. The thing is though it's 30 years since we were last in the fourth division and we've only spent ten years there in our entire history - they were dark days not the norm and we can't see being above that level as being some kind of achievement. Barnsley have not been in the fourth division in my lifetime but Hull, Swansea, Doncaster, Burnley, Blackpool, Preston and Plymouth have all been there fairly recently. The Premiership season probably was a one off but we have had a few close(ish) shaves before then and a very close one a couple of years later. As far as I am aware, in terms of the second division, we had one relegation battle in the eighties (which we one) and one in 2002 (which we lost). I will never see survival in this division as success and see no reason why we should.
RE: It all depends on expectations. nobody is talking dizzy height we are talking middish table without the panic each year
I would add though That where we have finished in the last 3 years is the absolute bare minimum achievement... Is that good enough is the question.
Well said Jay. This attitude that you've to sign up for everything or nothing - there's ryhilltyke on his way to getting sectioned cos he thinks anyone who doesn't want Davey sacking hates the club and then zetland who says if you don't like Davey then you aren't allowed to support the team - fcking barmy. And then Dreamboy and the like hanging out of the arse of whoever they think is popular that hour.
Arse biscuits.

stop talking ****** You support what you think is right and good for the club and you are allowed to disagree with anything that you think is bad for the club. If Cryne decides to knock down the east stand and build houses on it leaving the club with 7,000 less on its capacity I think almost everyone would disagree with it. Would that mean they can't be real barnsley supporters?
well as it stands we are rolling backwards very fast. pull your head out of your arse, he has had his time....aureviour!
Why are we rolling backwards, if a new manager took over tomorrow he'd be in a much stronger position then when Davey took over. Sometimes you can't have your own opinion, I can't say that I'm fully behind Davey because at present we look to have taken a step backwards over the summer. But I'll give him the chance with his full squad (which I and many others haven't seen) and keep my head up my arse as long as I wish to.
Can see what you mean BUT how long do you leave it? How many games does he get to show us what he has been trying to put together since May, 4 games in and we look appalling. We look like a newly promoted side struggling to find there feet in a new division.
Midweek rationalism has kicked in and it is causing massive arguments between supporters, as far as i can see there is only one thing that will unite the fans and get us all behind the team and that is to bring in a new manager.
3 years is long enough in my book and he just hasn't done it, time to let someone else have a go.
