    To be honest

If I'd have been a Cardiff fan at the match I'd have thought you were in control for most of the game. I didn't think you were great and we didn't really cause you too many problems. Thought JFH was rubbish even though he scored (although I could have scored it) and Fowler had a bit of an off day. You could tell he still has class though. I also thought the tall lad Johnson (is that right?) at the back looked good.

Although I'm sure we can play better I was very impressed with our defence (not something I've said very often in the last 5 years!!) and we battled for 90 minutes. After we scored I honestly thought we were going to get a second but you stood firm.

All in all, I'm very happy with a point because I think you'll do well this season.

Sorry Bluebird but Jimmy Floyd is a cheat...........

and how Dave Jones can complain about the ref beats me, he's the reason you got a point, McPhail should have walked, and he gave your lot every decision, another ref and I think you would've been on the end of a defeat.

    Should have been a pen

(only decision the ref gave our way in the whole 90 mins) but we should have had one in 2nd half for handball and possibly one in first half when the header was blocked on the line. I thought the ref was very poor, and so were the linesmen. We deserved a draw.

Agreed JFH not good for team spirit and a disgrace to watch

I'm not sure the partnership with Fowler works either. I think Cardiff would be better off with a Chopra type player alongside one or the other. Both RF and JFH both lackked mobility around the box imho.

Having said that they're attacking line up is still superior to most in the league and will no doubt double our attackers goal tally at the end of the season.

Draw was fair, personally I thought we edged it if only because we didn't have a moaning whingeing old has been on our side. :D

    RE: Bit harsh

Know where you're coming from with the moaning bit, that's just the way he is though. Infuriates opposition fans, but I like my players nagging the ref and casting doubt in his mind. He gave an interview in our local press explaining why he does it and apart from influencing refs, he just hates losing basically. Our players are ok with it - he tells them when they've messd up but also when they've done well.

I'm not sure about those two as a partnership either. A Chopra type would be nice, yes, but we haven't got £5m to spend. Ideally, I'd have Steve Thompson up front with RF and JFH lurking behind, particularly at home, but that's a bit adventurous for Dave Jones. Steve McClean is out for another month I believe, but he'll give us more options when he returns - although we are apparently looking to bring another striker in after we loaned out Warren "no goals" Feeney.

And another thing, old people are supposed to moan - it's their only pleasure in life :D

    so then

Do your players take kindly to being verbally abused by a player who really was awful for 89 minutes of the game? He was strutting around rather than actually moving to meet a pass & when he didn't get there (because he was slow) it was his team mates fault. I see trouble ahead.

On the bright side for you I doubt Fowler would miss those chances most weeks. I think he'll score plenty this season. Cardiff will be up towards play offs I suspect.

McPhail was brilliant but his reaction was very disappointing. He should have gone.

Draw a fair result. Not many reports have said much about the stone wall pen (handball) we should have had, or the awful booking of Campbell Rice. The ref was bad all round.
