Or maybe he's just lazy and a bit crap? I don't get where all these conspiracy theories are coming from, you'd think the bloke is the new Pele reading some of the stuff on here.
But the manager has said he won't play going forward. Not "if he puts in the effort he'll play" just that he's not going to feature. Not sure I'd be busting a gut if I heard my manager saying that. I'd probably be taking it further too. I don't know what's going on and my sympathies aren't with anyone, but that comment is not motivational and makes it sound like it doesn't matter what he does he won't be playing.
agreed. I suspect literally every professional football team ever, has had lazy players that get moved on because of it. I do think the timing is poor though. surely you'd keep as quiet as possible, if you're trying to move him out?
It depends if he us breaking any terms and conditions in his contract, i doubt Conway got anything in lhis contract like lack of effort in training, im sure they will have looked. Iseka isnt a poor player so its down to the staff and the other players to motivate not just ditch him
I suppose it depends how you read "MD has suggested that isn't going to change" - whether that relates to Iseka's attitude, him not featuring, or both. I'd be interested to read his actual words.
Player for sale, player for sale, does nowt in training, we won't play him... I imagine potential suitors are salivating at the mouth.
it's a fixed term contract and I imagine any football agent worth their salt would stop a player signing a contract that had a "must perform to a standard deemed acceptable by the manager or you will be released" clause in it. If he wasn't attending training etc. that would be one thing, but I imagine it would just come down to "I am trying my best" "no you're not" and that would be as far as it could go in terms of disciplinary measures.
Weird, they could just say he's an high earner and we cant afford him in this league. not he's a lazy fecker and wont play. Not sure there's gonna be many other clubs daft enough to buy him anyway. never mind after comments like that
In fairness to Duff, he has said from the start that performance in training will influence selection on matchday. He is being consistent in what he says and, if Iseka hasn't done enough in training, he isn't being selected. It's firm, but straight. Iseka holds the answer to resolve the matter. It doesn't look as though he wants to be here.
I had high hopes for Iseka this year. In the press(er) open day (when Tykes Tv, Red All Over were invited to interview the players), Iseka seemed a lovely lad, all smiles, the type of guy you'd trust to do your granny's shopping. He seemed optimistic about the season ahead and his role in the team. I just can't imagine that same guy goes on the training ground and just flops his arms down and goes sod it, can't be arsed today or any day for that matter, I'm just gonna be the Grove Street bin juice. More to it I reckon.
