I deal with a few councils in business and they are all saying the same thing when it comes to Covid things.
    1) Everything Covid related is being reclaimed back from Govt
    2) Due to the money given out already in terms of grants etc anything being sold to the council has to be at minimum profit for the supplier and copies of purchasing has to be given as proof (so have to prove my profit margins).
    3) Some Councils have cancelled rents for businesses so there has been a loss there for some, but not all are doing it.

The bit about cuts, shopping centres were already there and I can’t comment on the general financial aspect of a specific council as it varies.

Nor is buying the ground from the council. Its got to be the academy closing or admin if that's the description.

If it is administration (and it's still only a rumour), I hope that the board have the sense to wait, as almost every club in Leagues One and Two will be in financial hardship and I think that some kind of allowance/ deferment will have to be made to allow the clubs to continue. Keep the powder dry and wait to see how many clubs are admitting serious financial problems. If it is that the owners don't want to own the club any more, surely it would be up to them to sell it. That wouldn't mean administration, would it?

I thought it was pretty devastating as an 11 year old when Allan Clarke left to join dirty Leeds.

Not sure how most of that would be devastating to me. One thing not mentioned yet, which could be devastating, is a move to a new out of town stadium. Am I close ?

Sheffield Council reckon the Covid related deficit for them in central government funding etc is £23 million and counting I'd imagine BMBC would have a smaller but still considerable deficit too they didn't know when the agreed to fund town center redevelopment that there might not be any retailers left who have the ability to afford the rent in it

I don't think everything can be claimed back. I know that my council - Birmingham - are looking at a hefty loss that won't be reimbursed from central government.

I didn't realise they'd been possessed before. I thought they were just erratic.

Well, they do make a kind of "whoo...whoo.. " noise. Could be a ghost in the machine.

Probably not unless the developer agreed to fund new ground.

If - and it’s a HUGE IF - the rumours are right then I would guess it’s something to do with either:
    1) Struber leaving.
    2) A director leaving for medical or other reasons.

I can understand Struber wanting to leave - as Salzburg was my parents favourite place - so I’ve heard very good things about it.

You completely misinterpret what administration entails. You make it sound like a strategic board move, like whether to build a new stand. Like, "should we go into admin, or wait a bit"

In reality, it is one small step from oblivion. It is a legal framework, used when a business is insolvent and about to face liquidation, to protect it in the short term to allow external administrators to salvage what they can in the best interests of the creditors. The owners of a business dont have any choice as to whether to do it, or when to time it. If you are insolvent, it is illegal to continue trading and you enter admin.

It does seem to vary from one to another, but I wonder if that’s more to do with interpretation.
I know ones I deal with can’t claim back loss of earnings/takings for one of them they have very little in way of rentals but another is loosing millions as a result.
TBH, I never really know how to feel about Council and their budgets, on one hand you hear and see the stories about cuts to funding and services as a result and on the other Lincoln City Council last year spent millions on buying land building a hotel on it and then leasing out to Travelodge over 25 years and when quizzed about it they said it came from a £14 million fund they had saved.
