My daughter when young had panic attacks at the sign of needles and real paranoia and when hospitalised with asthma once the nurses had a terrible time with her. She had hypnotherapy which helped no end.. Having a baby pre during and post which involves blood tests, drips etc finally put paid to her phobia of needles once and for all!

That is the dread. You don't have to take the vaccine but if you do not you are banned from doing stuff. That isn't how we are suppose to be as a country.

Have I missed something other than tabloid rumours to suggest that this will happen? Or are you getting wound up about something for nothing?

Freedom passes have been mentioned. Qantas have said you will need the vaccine to go on their planes and other airlines are expected to follow suit. Ticketmaster have mentioned taking a vaccine to get in their gigs.

Ticketmaster response to that story - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-54920146. So, it wouldn't be up to them, instead it would be up to event organisers and venues to determine what health & safety T&Cs are applied to any events. If they want people to have been vaccinated to protect their staff (or more likely their company from any liabilities) then that's up to them.

Qantas - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-55048438 - They think it's likely, but worth adding the context that they are operating into and out of Australia, where rules have been and are likely to be a lot stricter on the borders, so such a policy will likely be needed there. Also - There are a lot of countries around the world where you need to 'have your jabs' if you're going to fly there. Suspect any Covid vaccine will become one of those jabs for a lot of countries.

Ticketmaster backtracked because of the uproar but I think it's still the plan for them and any act selling tickets through Ticketmaster that ask that of their fanbase deserve to have no ticket sales. I get you need jabs to travel to some countries, but this one hasn't been tested long term yet.

To be fair to him Johnson explicitly mentioned them yesterday so it's hardly a Sunday Sport story.

You might not want the vaccine, but you don't get to impose yourself upon those who do. You have a very simple choice, be part of the herd or get cast out into the wilderness. The vast majority want to be part of a functioning society - you can choose to abstain but you must accept the consequences of your decision. It's time to grow up.

    Dreamboy is right.

We do not live in a country beleives in mandatory vaccinations cocerion into being treated or punishing those who for whatever reason choose to decline a vaccination.

As already stated in this thread certain people cannot have a vaccine.

So you want to ostrochise them from society (which requires the reworking of the eqaulities act) because of this?

Who pays to keep them alive if they cant work due to 'no vaccine' or house them etc. Or do you ship them off to special camps?

Its a slippery slope you are heading down with mandatory/coerced treatments.

And dont forget this is for a virus that has a IFR of 1% or less.

In real terms it isnt as deadly as the currently vaccinated against flu.

In reality itll be a requirement to travel overseas that will require proof of vaccination eg for yellow fever dependent on the country.

Ryanair have already said you dont need to be vaccinated to travel with them around the EU.

Ticketmaster withdrew their plans pretty sharpish.

You wont need one for nipping to Asda.

We need to be able to identify those who don't have it and need to be "cast out"maybe they could wear some sort of distinctive yellow star so we know who they are.

I think everyone is going overboard on the whole vaccine thing. Measles had all but disappeared but thanks to Wakefield and the non existent link to autism he was so desperate to find, levels of vaccinations went down meaning those who medically shouldn't get it who were protected now arent.

And it is in no way comparable to Hitler's Germany, Jews had no choice in being Jewish. Get a grip!

I know that, I was pointing out the absurdity of suggesting people should be "cast out from society" if they don't take a vaccine.

    1) What have those who have the vaccine got to fear from those who don’t have it?

    2) Didn’t the herd choose to live under the Geneva Convention?

    3) Cast out into the wilderness eh? And the lockdown movement are the ones who think they are on the side of moral superiority. We all see you. Right from the start all any of you have ever cared about is you and your families not getting the virus, and f-ck the consequences.

Im not agreeing with his post per-se by replying to this, it’s a bit strong even for me - but on point 1, the people that are unable to have the vaccine and the 5-10% where it doesn’t work are reliant on enough of the population being inoculated. There needs to be a high enough percentage that are inoculated to ever get away from these restrictions. Simple as that.

You are comparing a long trialled and tested vaccine which somebody made false claims against to discredit with a rushed vaccine that hasn't undergone any long term testing.

    The two cannot be compared.

Yes. But Herd Immunity comes from inoculation, not from allowing 10s of millions of people to catch the virus.

That’s the difference between this and when Boris and Cummings were championing a “Herd Immunity strategy” back in February.

The Covid vaccine is going through the exact same testing and accreditation as any other vaccine.
