You might notice that every photo with big red circles and a banner with a Union Jack or Stars and Stripes is always indicative of a conspiracy theory. The ‘free thinker’ brigade out in force.
hi mate. Do you really think we won’t sit in full football stadiums again? I just can’t see that at all. I think it will take a while to faze out the measures and to some degree they will have become engrained in the population’s way of life / habit, so some will stay (using hand sanitizer and no shaking hands for example) but I very much doubt mask wearing and so on will be compulsory in a few years time - if it is I will buy you a pint next time i see you at Wembley
Do you not think those photos are genuine? Are you suggesting they have been photo-shopped in some way? Obviously the red rings have been added. I'm really not sure where you think the conspiracy theory is here. I'm simply pointing out that several countries around the world appear to be using the same Covid-19 response slogan.
The conspiracy theory is in the implication that there’s some omnipotent overlords dictating the policy.
Left side, Left side sing us a song, left side sing us a song. Oooo r yer oooo r yer ooo r yer. Right side, right side sing us a song, right side sing us a song. Oooo r yer oooo r yer oooo r yer.
Omnipotent dictatorial overlords? Yes that would be a conspiracy theory.... but I haven't implied that.
id safely have a bet that facemaks will be around (and mandatory in some places) for at least 2 to 3 years yet, even beyond.
What I implied is that the use of the same slogan suggests that world leaders have likely discussed their respective nation's approach and agreed on a best course of action. Are you implying that they all independently came up with exactly the same slogan?
I'm not sure about that, but I think it's possible. I think they'll stop being mandatory next summer, where they will phase out slowly. I think some shops may choose to keep the requirement though. Again though, I don't see that as an issue really. It's just a mask that can help protect others, don't see a reason to stop using them.
Give people the choice. Not compulsory, not with restrictions if you don't have it etc etc. It should be a choice and it should come with a clear warning that long term effects are not known. I think the vast majority of the vulnerable would choose to take it because the benefit outweighs the risks. For many it outweighs it significantly as the higher risk you are the more of a no grainer it becomes. For those who are at very very low risk there should be no compulsion or pressure to accept the vaccine. If the vulnerable choose to accept the vaccine then they're safe anyway aren't they, they shouldn't care if I am vaccinated or not. I'm sure the reply to that would be that there are some vulnerable who cannot be vaccinated due to immunodeficiency or other reasons and that is why they want everyone else to be vaccinated. My reply to that would be that these immunodeficiencies also put those people of extreme risk of dying of flu or other viruses. when on chemo a family member of mine was told to be very very careful as they were at extremely high risk if they caught anything. Following the 'we should all be vaccinated to create artificial herd immunity that protects those who cannot be vaccinated' argument should we not also all be vaccinated against other viruses?
Speculation on TV from SAGE members this morning, is like flu' we will never be totally shot of Covid. They were saying that similar to the annual flu jab, we might have to have a Covid booster every year, plus once you have had Covid, they can't say that you can't catch it again. As for the wearing of masks, they said they probably would have to be worn to ensure you are not infecting others in public places and hand sanitisation should be practiced by us all as a matter of routine anyway.
But I don't recall any posts from a single person on here calling people selfish, murderers etc for not being vaccinated against the flu. When hospitals couldn't cope with admissions last winter I didn't see people posting on here kicking off at posters for not having the flu vaccine. Why not? I don't get it
I quite like a mask.lots of people with anxiety saying its helps them when in public places, so some people probably wont mind wearing them bit longer
