computer assistance required

    I'd have thought it was the other way round - if the IP address works then it's a problem connecting to the DNS server, if it doesn't work then it's the firewall.

    Tried the IP address for the beeb but that didn't work so I decided to uninstall all the McAfee stuff. Went into the remove program option and selected McAfee firewall and selected to uninstall - it then came up saying that it could repair this, so thought I'd give that a try seeing as it appeared it was corrupt. It repaired it, completed install ok and now I'm back online! (doh)
    Looks like it got half installed and just blocked everything!

    Need to check now that the anti-virus is all up to date
