No I don't believe that. I do believe it gives an individual time to allow someone with some will to improve themselves and give themselves more opportunity to enhance their job prospects.

Time is all we have. It's what we do with it that matters.

Take for example a single unemployed father with two or three young children who are desperate to get to Oakwell - but the children are too young to go alone. Full cost tickets way out of their reach.
I think it would be very unreasonable for anyone to object to that family getting concessionary tickets for seats which would have been empty anyway -- unless you're of the (Dickensian) view that the poor should have no pleasures and should be penalised for being poor.

(If you want to tell me about your 'financial situation' feel free but I must admit to not being very interested!)

I'm going to get some stick on here for this, but I don't give a f**k.

Benefit money is not money earnt, nor should it be treated the same way as money earnt from working. It's money charitably handed out to help you improve your situation and provide for yourself and give back to the society that's given you help.

So no, it should not be used for frivolous things, it should be used for the intended purpose.

I think everyone shouldn't have to live in poverty or worry about finances, but that's how life is I'm afraid.

My dad is the reason I support Barnsley as he is from there. We used to go whilst I was growing up and I loved it, but I appreciated that he couldn't afford it regularly. I learnt from my parents the value of money and that things aren't handed to us on a plate, you have to work for it. I learnt more from that than I ever would have from freebies.

I'd love an Aston Martin but I dont expect them to give me one for a massive discount and I don't need it.

But if you have the Bellendian view, I guess you believe they should.
