To me I think people need to realise he's 18/19 he hasn't started a game for us in the league all season. But people are expecting him to come off the bench with 15 minutes to go or whatever and look a world beater and then slate him after on socials.

I think thats what players need a run of games before we can judge. Or if hes not ready loan him out get him competitive game time, because been sat getting splinters or getting 10 or 15 minutes every other week while chasing a game isnt doing him or barnsley fc and good. Infact id say its hindering his development. (Yes i know hes currently injured)

But then you have a talented player who goes through the motions half heartedly, then gets subbed and gets his name sang. Football fans eh.

Spot on. If he's fit I'd play him in the run in though.

Oh yeah, I wasn't saying that this is the case.

We've had enough rumours on here today!

Agree with your point on Jalo. I get why managers would trust experience when games are tight and we've been in the playoff hunt as previously.

But there's no reason why he should be given a run for the last handful of games if there's nowt to play for - injury permitting as you say.

Disagree on the half hearted stuff though. I genuinely don't think any player sets out before a game to not give a toss. You correctly defended Cole last year when people accused him of downing tools. I don't think a footballer does that on purpose.

When he gets fit I'd give him a run of games, dkds been great this season but apart from that rest abit meh, watters the best out of him, Humphrys and Cosgrove

Yeah I think either give him more minutes or get him some competitive game time out on loan next season to aid his development. Lads at 18 19 aren't the finished product there just developing hopefully he can have a good career we will see.

I did defend cole thought he was harshly treat by some of our fans. His goal total speaks for itself top scorer 2 seasons in a row last season scored more than watters, Humphrys and Cosgrove have this season. Norwood was a workhorse ran his blood to water not a prolific but there's no hiding on the field if your upfront and your not contributing goals or workrate fans can see.

Well it's certainly good news for him at least.. After the amount of goals conceded last season it's the here and now team that needs improving or a long hard slog is definitely on the cards next season.
How many young players have we announced with bells and whistles for them to just quietly leave by the side door over the years...
At best a meh from me..

Some signings of players who could add to the defence now would be good. Although most players will still be on holiday and maybe we need to move some on 1st. Shifting MDG on would be my 1st priority.

Yet another negative post. Cant you just be happy a young lad who's done relatively well in a decent league has signed a new contract? :D
