If it's from there I think we can relax. Do you have any info about how it's progressing? Assuming we won't see any movement today with it being a bank holiday.
There's more chance of me playing in midfield for Barnsley than Hourihane. Load of "in the know" rubbish.
It's been widely reported by local journalists like Doug, Leon and radio deedar that something has been discussed as well as in the interview he did with the athletic. Obviously anything can happen to change minds but there's still a possibility.
Totally unreliable sources on Twitter spouting articles that when you read them have no basis to them whatsoever. And then the usual bed wetters respond with “he was never coming” etc. I doubt local Journos would report stuff without real substance, so I’d guess Barnsley is one of Conor’s options. I’m not saying Conor is coming - I’m just bored of reading a load of hysteria without any actual foundation.
To be honest I doubt Conor has spoken any more since he's been holiday in Vegas with derby lads celebrating promotion. If it were to happen I wouldn't expect any movement until later in the week at the earliest point. Problem with twitter rumours is they all live in a bubble where footballers don't have real lives and act like FIFA transfers.
Exactly. People are losing their heads over a rumour posted on a site that also gave us: Kieffer to Wednesday Kayden Jackson to Barnsley Langston Blackstock to Barnsley Felix Strauss to Barnsley Mads to Stoke Denis Bounga to Barnsley Announcement due at 6:17am It goes on. I’m sure half of the names are made up. Either way the entire site is obviously a wind up, yet people retweet the nonsense and others lose their heads over it.
Isn't that just journalism is a nutshell? It's all about being told information and then relaying it to the public. Short of being the subject itself.
My personal opinion is it won’t happen. If he really wanted to come back, I would have thought it would have been done by now. I imagine there are still Clubs that will give him one last contract, bigger than we’ll offer.
Not really unless you just want to be known as another irrelevant blogger making stuff up or repeating stuff made up on social media . For me it shows a complete lack of integrity, they aren’t even saying ‘sources at the club’ or ‘ sources close to Hourihane ‘ or I’ve contacted xyz and they have confirmed or not denied talks with the club .
It's still early in the summer. Can't fault anybody with three or four offers on the table going on holiday for a couple of weeks to mull things over, especially after a big successful season.
Agreed. If he loves us so much he would have signed by now. He's like every other Football player playing clubs off against one another for the best possible deal. That's his choice and we shouldn't have a go at him for it. If it was such a done deal his agent would have got it done whilst Conor was away on holiday. It's not the old days of players needing to be there in person.
