He was made a scapegoat, this smiling moron needs to go before he does anymore damage to our football club. January was an absolute ******* disaster and it was on his watch. Get ready for more of the same over the summer.
That game Humphrys played LCF, Farrugia at Wing back. Humphrys didnt play any games out wide under Clarke
He played plenty out wide including that game. We played one striker with Phillips on the right, & Humphrys on the left. It was my biggest gripe with Clarke that he played 3-4-2-1 most of the season & I think we lacked an extra man in central midfield. I would have preferred it if he played Phillips deeper & inside in a midfield 3 with Humphrys or whoever was on the left playing in a front 2
W1 D1 L4 In League 1. It's just all so bleak. Edit: it's W1 D2 L4 isn't it....not really much better if we're being honest
This is Humphrys heatmap in the game you mentioned, hes mainly getting the ball in the left centre forward position where he needs awareness of whats going to the right and left of him which he lacks. When hes wide he can focus on taking the full back rather than running into congestion
Yep and the DOF has already dictated the style and type of football before a appointment has been made or a ball kicked. How's about appointing a coach who brings their style to the club hence the comments on no Warnock or McCarthy type of coach getting the job...surely there must be concern about 3 coaches in 2 seasons. or maybe your happy with the direction it's taking. Collins lost his job when we were in the playoff positions.....Who's running the show ?
Not against this still. Just sort some defenders out for next season. Even if they are league 2 standard they will be better than the ***** we have at the back
Nope, me neither, and I was thinking that even before today's utter shambles. Some of these players should be ashamed of themselves, and it maybe goes beyond coaching, its all about their lazy attitude. I knew things weren't going to be brilliant all of a sudden under Conor, and that he had a lot of work to do. I've tried to cut him some slack!. And while 'madness' was maybe a harsh word to use last week, like I did on here. I still think they are wrong to appoint him at this moment in time.
I don’t study heat maps but this looks exactly like one for someone playing on the left especially as the game will drift over to the right hand side on plenty of occasions & he’ll move in field. I know I berated him for not gambling at the far post several times during that game & felt he didn’t try & to be honest I don’t give a damn whether he plays out wide, up top or even right back. My issue has been his lack of effort. He’s not given his all for months up until recently. When we were desperate up front due to Watters injuries & Cosgrove’s form he couldn’t be bothered to put a shift in for the team. It’s a shame because he’s talented but I could never trust him as a player.
I see our neighbours, Huddersfield Town, have sacked their Sporting Director after today's result to all intents and purposes saw their playoff hopes get quenched even though it's not mathematically impossible. Just like Mladen he oversaw the appointment of a number of failed head coaches despite backing them with a hefty transfer outlay.
Yeah that is true, but there's also a thin line between facts, and excuses. And a lot of the time, they can both be the same thing.
Sounds like something out of the Barnsley FC Playbook. Mark Cartwright was sacked as Sporting Director a week ago but it was supposed to be kept quiet until the EOS. However today's defeat to Cambridge United has led to increased fan unrest at what is happening off the field and throw in low ST sales then it has forced their hand somewhat. A lot of town fans want to go back to the past and bring in Stuart Webber as Sporting Director and David Wagner as head coach but gone are the days of cheap season tickets!
It has been suggested that one or more of our possible pre season targets, was taken off the list. For example, with Paul Warne going to Milton Keynes instead. So these lot maybe realised they had to act now, and try to base it on last weeks brilliant result. And a few other good positive things, in the other games we didn't win!. Yeah I know that's a rather cynical and sarcastic view, but its also very believable. Judge us by our actions they say... well that's exactly what we are doing. Conor is going to need a lot of backing and support, and good luck!.
Two nil lead thrown away, 3 goals conceded in 6 minutes. Neerav must be wondering what he has done AGAIN.
