Youve given your telly away to smaller relations next door. You look for a replacement. Find a model you want. Dither over tye purchase. Shop sells out. You end up having to borrow one at a quid an hour...
Luke Berry. Hypothetically, say Hourihane picked up an injury. If that very unlikely event were to occur, it would be good if we had somebody to step in and cover him for a few games. Luke Berry might have seemed a good option.
Some good points there Baka but only if we go with the current squad I'd be very surprised if we didn't bring another half a dozen players then things will start to look a little rosier
I'm not negative generally but would see avoiding relegation as our goal this season. As with Wilson I want Johnson to succeed and hope he gets his three windows. if we are bottom 6 come Christmas I hope everyone takes into account the age of the squad.
Lalkovic - theres a player in there and nobody seems to have highlighted that once the manager that acquired him was needlessly sacked, he didnt have the same spark. I'd suggest he needs managing a particular way, something that several ave failed to do. But he has ability and had spells of energy. Bailey. Best passer of a ball at the club. In a 3 man midfield (i'm assuming thats what we might be doing, though its far from obvious with such a tiny amount of players. Digby and Holgate. One being pushed upon us perhaps, but no reason to force an exit upon Digby. Another talented lad who just hasn't had a run of games. Oates, I liked the look of this kid in the very fleeting views i've seen of him. Personally, i would have tried with jennings again too. If MK Dons get him anything like and enjoying football again, they've got a heck of a player. I'd stick with all of those players and give them a chance, coach them, understand them, believe in them and try and get them to gel. Especially as we clearly haven't been able to get the multitude of players all available to come to the club.
I agree but I don't think we actively got rid of Berry but when a club comes in for him that he wants to move to (if that's what happened), it's difficult to keep a player in that circumstance
In the interview Berry gave to Cambridge after he re-signed, he said he was shocked Barnsley had accepted an offer for him and fully expected to be playing for us again next season. He was happy to move back to Cambridge once he was told Barnsley had accepted the offer, but didn't think a move anywhere was on the cards.
Ok I agree with that. But what's done is done. Now if we brought in players as direct replacements for those would you be happy?
It's immaterial. But I'll be happy with 19th and the point where the club finally learning from its mistakes rather than saying it has, and repeating them over and over again.
