Well worth a read definitely. I certainly don't agree with all of it, and at times it can come across as a bit of an anti-capitalist rant - a lot of attention is paid to the down side of the market reforms in Russia and China - whilst brushing over the fact that in the medium term millions were lifted out of poverty. But anyway, there is enough fascinating an shocking information there to keep the reader hooked. The sections on the forced market reforms in Chile and Argentina in the 1970s, and the Hurricane Katrina disaster response made for especially intriguing and disturbing reading. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Shock-D...r=8-1&keywords=the+shock+doctrine+naomi+klein
Love conspiracy theories. Looked into the 9/11 one's, as well as the 'Paul is dead' rumour. Endless little tidbits point to Paul dying, and being replaced by someone else. Although, i'm not too sure how much I believe... Gonna look into the Tupac one now
I've got a few..... Gok Wan is really straight, and just pretends to be gay to get a look at naked lasses Cats are really just a small, selfish breed of dog DIY and gardening are not hobbies, they were invented by women to keep men out of pubs If you take too much cod liver oil, you'll actually turn into a cod Monkey Tennis would actually be more popular than normal tennis Jon Bon Jovi and Jim Davidson are actually the same person
I've thought that for years. The gay thing is just a front so that he can indulge in behaviour which would warrant a slap for a straight bloke.
To be fair, crazy stories perpetuated by mentals, for mentals, to sell $hit. David Icke believes we are ruled by shapeshifting lizards and that the moon is a giant spaceship. Funny though. Check out Zeitgeist Movement. Huge global following...not short of a few quid
Hitchens is a hero of mine and he will be turning in his grave at the thought of you reading that trash after one of his books.
A good 911 one to watch a lot of research done; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a58Zfu9kBb0 WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND; Jesse Ventura BP Oil Spill; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27paqVUozG0
If it turns out to be trash then I'll just delete it - the beauty of Kindle. I am also a big fan of Hitchens and Dawkins as well (though he can get a bit militant at times), but I am trying to find some stuff to read from the other side that the minute - ie intelligent writings from theists - just to add a bit of balance to things. I am pretty cynical about all things religious, so it will take something pretty incredible to convert me from Atheism.
Spooky - I must be naive; of all the conspiracies I have looked at, I can honestly say I had never even heard the "Paul is Dead" one. Needless to say I have just taken a 2 hour lunch and read some of the most brilliant Paul / Faul stories and it has made my day ! ! ! Can't tell yet if there is anything in them, but like all these "theories" it certainly gets the old grey matter into gear. Mind working overtime now
I'm convinced Dr David Kelly was murdered. The one bloke that could blow apart the case for war, and he ends up dead in the woods. "Make it look like suicide" said one agent to another... When asked about the incident in a recent interview Jack Straw said "I can categorically state that the British agencies do not engage in this sort of activity. But other countries do." So there we have it, the yanks bumped him off.
FAO Merde Tete... Instead of reading someone else's view...why don't you find out yourself what its all about..you know the truth.. There a book thats been out for about 15-20 years now...you can read it if your in any religion and it will enhance it...or an atheist, and it will stop you in your tracks... its doesn't matter, because the truth doesn't care... Its very easy book to read, but if you can grasp its meaning even a little, then wow...it will change your out look totally.. PM mi mate and ill give you the title..
