I questioned that. They could be importing, as both brands do make a whole range of beers. Would have thought a London pub had half a dozen beers (with no head).
What is the f-ing point. I think it's great a pub having a good range of low / no alcohol beers, but a pub just selling that is as silly as opening a cereal bar in Headingley. That lasted a few weeks.
I never have cash on me. Can’t remember the last time I went to an ATM, to be honest. If somewhere doesn’t take card, I don’t go. Contactless would make the queues move so much faster at Oakwell, too. Not having to piss about with change etc.
This. I also never ever use or withdraw any cash, everything is done by card. I imagine the club will introduce it at some point. Probably the 22nd century.
Do you remember the days when pretty much everyone paid with cash and then there’d be one annoying person who’d want to pay by card and would hold the whole queue up for 5 minutes whilst they swiped it and then signatures were compared?
Everything is no and low alcohol. Was only around for three days. I went to it. Pop-up by Sainsbury's called 'The Clean Vic'
Everyone thinks the latest Hispter trend will work in Headingley but that is never the case. These guys have been pretty successful with it in London - https://www.cerealkillercafe.co.uk/ As for 'The Clean Vic' it was only a three day pop-up and was activated by Sainsbury's. Was a deliberate PR play to showcase how much the low/no category has moved on, but also a bit of a social experiment to show you can still have a great pub atmosphere even without alcohol being served. They were running Tasting Masterclasses upstairs each night and all the tickets were sold out weeks before it opened. Really clever idea and great for those involved and those who went (like me).
I'm really glad I only found this out now cos I made my dad buy the beers Saturday as I presumed it would be cash only. I may need to forget this piece of information before the next game...
I am pleased to hear of the installation of contactless in the fanzone. I was unable to make it on Saturday so the more pressing matter is... Can I still get a Turner's pie?
I lose everything, car keys, house keys, bank cards, mobile phones, parked car, wife, child ,. I need to carry cash for safe return of the above although for the wives return I could pay contactless.
I use Apple Pay, it takes the guesswork out of where I was and how much I spent, as its itemised on the phone...
Only use cash and never carry my debit card when I need to withdraw some money so would be stuck if somewhere was unexpectedly card only(never had a credit card).
I actually paid by cheque at the end of last year. Not at a supermarket but it was for our conveyancer. We posted it on the weekend and the sale fell through whilst it was in the post so we contacted the conveyancer who then posted it back. It was only because it was a bank holiday that it hadn’t been cashed already so we were lucky there. They ended up getting it back for the house we ended up buying a few months later.
