Well, you might get cheaper fish - if you want herring, sole or mackerel with your chips. That is about 80% of what we catch.

The only political bloc we encountered, except for the African Union, MERCOSUR, CARICOM, ASEAN, NAFTA, Arab League, Pacific Islands Forum, the Commonwealth, EFTA, Andean Community and probably a few more I've missed. Many of these are less political than the EU is *now*, but most have a stated aim to follow in the same path for political and trade integration.

It is the way of the world. You can be a big country - China, India, USA, (possibly Brazil and Russia) or you need to work with others with shared geographic and commercial interests to leverage a bigger share of the market. Those that are left will bend the knee to the bigger boys or be bent over by them.

Beat me to it, just about to say the same...
I do agree with dekparker as well that initially the Common Market was a trading bloc which brought significant trading agreements and benefits. It certainly morphed into something bigger and stronger, but in that I didn't mind as it lessened the chances of another war in Europe, and encouraged the meeting of minds and cultures which ultimately helps break down prejudices and barriers. There are plenty on here who have travelled widely, and they'll know it's true it does broaden the mind, removing the jingoistic shackles.
I think it got too federal for some, with some justification, but I also thought we would have more influence and control being part of it rather than looking in through the window from the street.
The EU will not make anything easy for us now, and in Boris they will have seen how weak and incompetent he is during the pandemic. He's the solitary little matchboy looking at up the big mesters and missuses walking past.

The negative impact of Brexit to the economy and our pockets will probably now be obscured somewhat by the post-covid hit. It will be harder to pick out the effect now we'll be in/ recovering from a recession, so the brexiteers will deny that it has had any effect and get away with it

The "situation that Labour has left us in" line of the last decade will now be replaced with "the situation that the Covid crisis has left us in" - to be trotted out by the government as they freeze NHS pay again next year

That’s because they were agitated to be annoyed about immigrants but not educated as to how international trade actually works.

how many times have you seen repetition of the lie that WTO terms won’t hurt our economy?

People don’t care because it’s complicated.

have you not been here for the past 4 years!

if you are racist il call you a racist. And il keep calling you a racist until you stop being so or leave and crawl into a hole with your fellow racist scum. If you don’t like that don’t be a racist then I won’t.

It’s got nothing to do with whom anyone agrees with. The racists seem to not Understand that vital part of the discussion.

Its always funny when you get Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak (and the others) talking about the "state that Labour left us in" when they were the bankers that caused the crisis in the first place. Its like an arsonist setting fire to a school then blaming the fire brigade for the water damage.

    Wow. Just wow.

If I’ve touched a nerve don’t worry we’ve all seen what you are.

Without a credible argument or defense you choose to throw insults, at least some who support brexit have a reasoned and credible viewpoint. I won’t comment on where or by whom I was brought up by you don’t deserve that.

Seems like it’s me that’s touched a nerve. Didn’t you say in another thread that your mother was a racist(think you said massive). If I’ve got you mixed up with someone else I sincerely apologise. People have put forward many valid reasons voting for Brexit, disagreeing with BLM/ disagreeing with the protests, only to be shut down, called racist, where’s your evidence etc. So please don’t lecture me about a credible arguments or defence. Some of us are fed up about being called a racist.

Sorry, but anyone that disagrees with the principles behind black lives matter is a racist. Plenty disagreed with the approach taken (mass protests) during a pandemic - myself included - but the UK and many other countries have been institutionally racist against minorities for centuries. Even in the last few years we've seen Windrush and other situations that could easily be avoided - including the Barnsley fans banned for racist social media posts in the last week.

But Brexit is taking us to the land of milk and honey so any negative impact covid 19 has will be countered by the benefits of Brexit - neutrality at the worst.

Still not answered the question? I made a comment that’s true, not deflecting anything. Think it’s you that’s been found out pal.

What is the relevance of your question? I can't see how there is any either in the question or any kind of answer.
