Well I feel shamed now What was I thinking, not raving day in day out about a young lad that's yet to start his professional career proper? To make amends, I've just erected a ten foot high shrine to all things RNL in my front garden. Does anybody seriously think that RNL hasn't done well? Does he need us to show this by going down and kissing the lad's boots? Is that normal? What's this... a new "shock jock" approach to journalism?
we're not always right though, are we? I remember the venom that was thrown at Paul Hart, of similiar intensity, of personal nature and often with no factual evidence, leading to him nigh on begging Gordon to let him walk away. That'll be the same Paul Hart keeping Portsmouth in the Premiership. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, you're perfectly entitled to dislike Davey and criticise where *you feel appropriate, could even sit arms folded in *your £50 seat at Wembley thinking the same angry thoughts. That doesnt make you* right though, and if he or the club have a go back, dont act all surprised and up in arms. *note, not literally, 'you', obviously.
This article would be fine If it was simply Mark Stokes' opinion published on an independent web site. I'm not sure he'd continue to get many readers when he obviously holds Barnsley supporters in such contempt, but he's certainly entitled to his opinion. The thing is, it's not an independent web site, despite what Mark and BFC claim. Mark Stokes has ties to the club. The club use Mark Stokes' site to release information and opinion. Why, on the eve of such an important game in Barnsley's season, such an inflammatory article has been released where the sole purpose appears to be to antagonise the fans is beyond me. What happened to stronger together? Actually, thinking about it and having had dealings with some people behind the scenes at Oakwell, I'm not surprised by this article at all. It just reinforces my opinion of them.
To quote Stokesie "But let's forget Reuben and keep focused on the real matter at hand, "Davey out, Davey out...." Couldn't agree more - well said that man
come on SM Paul Hart was an appalling manager for Barnsley and a few games in charge of Portsmouth after years of being unable to get another manager's job doesn't change that.
RE: This article would be fine Another PR own goal maybe the club will have a rethink when the rush of season ticket renewals fails to materialise
So, if your customers are complaining about your product you 'have a go back'. </p> What Business School did they go to?</p>
Not suited to League 1 maybe. tried to play too much football in a pub league. His post match interviews made Davey positively positive. ironically, I reckon he'd have 'gambled' on RNL in the first team. If he were good enough like.
RE: Not suited to League 1 Compared to Paul Hart, Simon Davey is the most eloquent, up beat, open and welcoming manager you would ever want to meet.
RE: Not suited to League 1 if/when Davey gets the 'inevitable' bullet, I hope we get a foreign manager who needs an interpreter. Laugh. My. Pisser. Off.
RE: This article would be fine Never had any dealings with anyone behind the scenes of the club (apart from the old days when I knew John Dennis well, who again get totally misrepresented on this board.) I can't understand anyone wanting to alienate the fans if they care about the club. Why would they do that Jay? Help me out here. I know people think John Dennis did everything on purpose but he cared deeply about the club and was a fan like everyone else.
I have seen it all now Hmm Paul Hart begging to be let go, something i very much doubt. </p> Can not believe someone has even typed the words "<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 12px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 1px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 1px">That'll be the same Paul Hart keeping Portsmouth in the Premiership</span>", speechless.</p>
So, are you a customer (one who buys goods or services). If so you will have no trouble in walking away if the goods/services do not meet your requirements. Personally, I am a supporter (an adherent, follower, backer or advocate). Supporters stick by their teams when times are rough. I have no intention of walking away.
