How? How many fans do Wigan get at games? Derby don't own their own ground. Really getting fed up of people, even our own fans putting us down all the time. Look at the history, we're a solid Championship club.( or at least we should be!)
Well in that case why is Derby being lauded as better? The only reason could be history? They're in administration , renting a ground at 2 million a year.
Vast majority don't give a toss about the other stuff if the team's doing well. Simple as that. Apart from the West Stand ejections, the only difference between this season and the conclusion of the last is the league position. If you were complaining loudly about the ownership last season, you are exempt. If you can dig out your previous posts to corroborate this, you are a hero and in a small minority . Do it. The rest rise and fall according to how many games we've won. If we went on to win 4 in a row they'd all shut up. (not that we will)
It's the uncertainty that runs all the way through our club that is starting to make it difficult to carry on as a supporter...The owners give the impression that everything and everyone is for sale. they want to own the ground but most of us believe that's because of the amount of land that goes with it. (funny how there's no money to invest in the team but they are in a dispute about buying Oakwell)..After over 50 years of support I now believe there will be building on the site in my lifetime. Yes I would rather be a solid league one club owned by someone like Patrick than be waiting for the axe to fall or the club to fold..
You don't see the problem do you we the fans thought last season was a success and because we didn't sell many players in the window it was also a success but the board see last season and the summer window as a failure not because ultimately we didn't achieve promotion but because they couldn't sell a boat load of players for a vast profit on the back of it.
Wigan had smaller crowds than us in the premier League their success was down to Dave Whelan's wallet.
Nope what I'm saying is I want a board that puts sporting success before profit generation. The current board deemed last season a failure simply because they didn't manage to sell many players that is completely at odds with what the majority of fans believe no wonder VI went at the first opportunity if the reaction he got to achieving on field success was disappointment from his employers because they couldn't sell the squad and blamed his playing style for that.
That’s right. In fact I remember you saying just that last season during the payoffs. Hopeless bunch of charlatans wasn’t it?
That’s football today though. Just to keep BFC afloat we have to sell and be commercially savvy. Applies to the lower leagues as well. So even if Bill & Tom from Kendray took over, unless they can balance the books, regardless of what league we play in, we’ll go into admin, and do a Bury eventually. There has to be a focus on the football side as well as a focus on the finance side. They go hand-in-hand. I’m not saying it’s right - but unless the FA grow some balls, it’ll not change.
