Just bedding down for some anti bazball. He is just getting started The guy just doesn't throw his wicket away. When you get him you know you've done well. Let's hope we haven't too long to wait.
Frustrating is this. After a good day yesterday with the ball (7 LBWs!) we just need 63 on the last day to win with 7 wickets left but it's been rained off so far.
I’m about 10 miles away from the ground. It hasn’t rained since noon but it was a biblical downpour. I don’t think they will be in a hurry to dry the outfield.
Not happening I’m afraid. The weather hasn’t been kind to us at all so far this season. A rare win chalked off….
Too many tinpot counties at this level. Sussex don't protect their pitch from the weather and because of it end up coming out with two more points than Yorkshire even though they were going to lose.
Sickening way to settle a match. No wonder not many attend the long game. They should build into the schedule a fifth reserve day and use it if necessary. Why can’t this simple thing be done?
**** happens, can't blame them for the weather, and as for reserve days? never happen, watched the closing stages of middlesex v notts, that was good viewing, albeit on youtube
In Sri Lanka though they cover the entire playing area and get back out much quicker. Everywhere should do the same. There is no excuse for wet outfield.
Only the ECB to blame really with our first class game shoe-horned in to April to waste the whole of August on the Dumbdred.
I'm not checking the whole season but today and tomorrow, for example, there are no CC games. As it happens though it's raining in Hove again today, but fine tomorrow. I know what you are saying - I just think it's an awful way to settle a match. Yorkshire well on top but come out with less points than Sussex and are denied a long-awaited win. It's about time they put a roof on every cricket ground
Joking apart, I remember playing indoor cricket a few times in the 80’s… it was somewhere over Leeds Bradford way and there was an active league at that time. There was only a small playing area and loads of netting providing makeshift boundaries etc. No idea if it still gets played though
