    What a bowler Fernando is. Out here playing for us rather than in his homeland in the Lanka Premier League that started yesterday.

    And yet he’s being shunted out of the test team without even giving him a full final summer - despite it being plain to anyone watching that whilst not the Anderson of five or ten years ago, he’s still the best seamer we have in English conditions. Certainly in the top two or three. But we’ll play someone else - just because.

    Poor show all round that for me.

    But then you look at what they’re doing with the wicket keeping selection and you can’t be surprised. It all seems a little bizarre to me.

    Edit - now 6/19 off ten overs.

    Great performance to do such a convincing job. Wharton has replaced Root brilliatly.

    Surely now we will have YJB more often with his international career likely over?
