    Most of the local leagues (Sheffield & district, Barnsley & Pontefract & District) has apparently postponed the start of the season for a week & are adding it onto the end, due to the levels of rain we’ve had.
    Never known owt like it!

    Pontefract haven’t yet but are considering it. It’s a sensible decision to do so as the grounds are so wet and are just not getting the chance to dry. About 5 years ago they delayed by a week then we went to have a crazy hot summer.

    Yeah it’s a no brain IMO. Weather always seems better at the end of the year and obviously the grounds are drier so can take a bit of rain. Light is an issue but could always start an hour early in September.
