7 down. Brave of Middlesex to put us in first. Usually it's runs on the board in the county championship and have the advantage of bowling last on a wearing pitch.
Back to normal today by the looks of it, and hoping for some bad weather to help us in this match. We're currently almost 150 for 9, at tea.
Rain delay!!... Yorkies out for 159... Midds 37 for 2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKE1217482
Bowled well this morning at Lords until our “star” Aussie import Mickey Edwards comes on. All those great players around the county circuit imported from overseas and we get this lad. Are they using the Cryne recruitment spreadsheet?
I think recruitment may improve in the future as Mr Gough’s selections haven’t had a great deal of success ( he says politely )
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...s-yorkshire-10th-match-1410272/full-scorecard Our big names haven't stepped up. Bairstow has been dropped by his IPL team for getting less than hundred runs in his last half a dozen innings. Maybe he should come play for Yorkshire....
Its a dreadful loss for us here at Middlesex, we didn't even get close to making a game of it. We will have to see if they/Midds prove to be a good team this season, in this division.
Let's hope before Friday some of the men take inspiration from Hollie Armitage She's been talked up around these parts for a decade...... https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/cricket/hollie-armitage-meltham-huddersfield-called-6660082
No the article saying she's sixteen is from ten years ago. She's been highly regarded a long time and plays for England. Might all be for nothing if they don't get some wickets soon.
Great start at Headingley batting first. A chance this afternoon for Joseph Edward Root to get some rare county runs. Masood was playing Bazball. Probably annoyed he wasn't picked for the current T20 home series Pakistan are losing to New Zealand reserves.
I think I’m living in the past as Jethro said with news from 10 yrs ago being my speciality. What a dope I am
Shame for Lyth to fall 3 runs short of his century. He's started the season strongly and that would have been the third game he'd got a hundred in from the first four games. He's still got the second innings.....
Shame the rain curtailed play but enjoyable couple of sessions. Masood 40 from 10 x 4's. Unlucky for Lyth to miss a century by 3 runs and Root/Brook going well. Was gonna go Sunday too but forecast looks sheite. No-one noticed my Reds shirt.... but did get chatting to a Bradford City fan.
