Great session this morning from a bowling attack missing Rauf, Coad and Fisher. Should be getting them all out for less than 300.
With all the Lyth hating his under/over for runs in play on Bet365 is 33.5 so under wins us all cash because he will fail?
Bookies offer odds on how many runs a batter will get. At the start of the Yorkshire reply they had the under and over amount at 33.5 runs. He's currently on 20 off 107. Slow going for Lyth but he's still there.
Lyth got a 4 with his first ball yesterday and his next 12 runs took 98 more deliveries but he stuck to his task and now has a good 100+ with over 40% scoring rate. That’s what you do to get your form back. Well done Mr Lyth ! Also, Brook shoots a classy 82… does his selection chances no harm.
Well done lyth. Not afore time though. Let's hope Yorkshire push on quickly. And give themselves time to bowl em out or a run chase. Weather doesn't look great though light wise. But rain not forecast.
decent day 2, but brook failed yet again and only managed 82, lyth at last did something with the bat how many catches we dropped so far this season? must be a fair few already, some are dollies too
One plus for Yorkshire is that a lot of young un’s are getting regular 1st team experience. Potential players not playing for varied reasons include Ballance, Willey, Bairstow, Coad, Fisher and Kohler-Cadmore. Some big shoes to step into there ! The lads must love it
comm team were on about it earlier, we would all love him to get a run in the test team and succeed, but how long before we moan we lose our best players? for me, representing england would be the greatest honour and nobody should moan only thing i moan about is when in between series they let most return to their counties but seem to hold the yorkshire guys back
Enjoyable day for me at Headingley today if a bit nippy and damp at times! Good patient knock from Lyth and happy to give him plaudits today after calling for his 'head' earlier in the week - just wish he could catch though too and he is still only averaging around 30 even after today. Interesting to hear from one of the coaching staff that if Malan and Rauf had been fit Lyth would have probably been one of the ones left out - he did the same at the back end of last season I recall, when Ballance had to drop out and Adam got a reprieve and made a big score. Maybe we should threaten to drop him before every game! Brook is pure class - plays the ball so late he appears to have so much time - 840 runs at 140 average in 5 and a half games is some going. McCollum and Stokes better not have him carrying drinks around next month!
