Why would he move his family if they're settled?

Money talks. When next season starts he will be 33 and they have given him a four year contract. Yorkshire stopped giving long contracts to guys in their 30s when they lost players like Brooks, Bresnan etc in quick succession. He misses the start of the season due to the IPL and isn't seen as a four day player. Then when it gets to the domestic T20 you have to worry about him being picked for England limited overs games.

    Sounds like it’s money.
We’ve made him capt. of one dayers and let him get his coin from IPL so they must have offered quite a bit more you’d have thought.

Surprised the Northants website has comments from him on joining them, but the Yorkshire site article doesn't even have comments from their own player...Probably reading too much in to it but Northants going through his achievements don't even mention us.

Could there be some bad blood? I don't think losing our T20 captain and England international to a smaller county means we are skint. He's going back home and we are being linked to Moeen Ali who won't be cheap.

We’ve a huge debt of millions already so a bit more won’t make much difference.
I suppose the ground and the prospective takings from the test are good enough security.

You’d get a few houses on that site .. god forbid !

You’re right DB it doesn’t quite ring true.
What happens when we play Northants ?

He will be professional and try and beat them, if he's available to play.

County Championship looks like going down to the wire. Two quick Bess wickets including James Vince.

Going to be close at Hampshire…
2 days of stressful finishes in cricket.
Not used to this certainly not at Oakwell

What i don't understand is why England play same time as County games as best players are lost to England. Don't get that in Football or Rugby League.
    Can you explain it ta.

Don't they become England players loaned back to the county?

Lack of available dates. County cricket is nay on constant from beginning of season to end. 4 day. Vitality blast. Royal london cup. The hundred. And that's discounting the IPL. Which encroache's the English summer. Around 80/90 days cricket for the best players outside the england set up.
England games take place at the height of summer to try get the best (more reliable) weather.
I do sometimes think players should be released a little more often to turn out for their counties. When there is enough of a gap between games.

Good Weather which cricket relies on, doesn't come into it re football and rugby.

Willey speaks out in Telegraph and his Instagram account.
Can’t do links etc but it’s an interesting read.
Will he still play rest of season ?
    We’ll see tomorrow

Interesting read like you say. Surely he can't play another game the rest of the season after calling the club out including basically calling them liars.

It is a gentleman’s game but he’s not played by the rules.
Yorks are still paying his wages so why couldn’t he wait until end of season before shooting his mouth off ?
Sack him off and give Thompson the one day captaincy

Be worth keeping an eye on Darren Gough to see if he says more since these tweets.....

It's going to come out why Willey thinks contract chat was inaccurate. It won't be kept a secret for long.

    Good old Goughy !
I wasn’t aware that Yorkshire get money back when playing for England and IPL.
He must owe YCCC money then ?

He comes across as an egotistical spoilt brat , of course Yorkshires main priority is restoring its reputation so they can have test match’s and afford to pay people like Willey
