Another easy defeat. Oh well at least Root and Brook have their feet up at home nicely rested ready for the Hundred.
I haven’t got a clue who’s playing for who in the Hundred and I’ve no interest. If there was a Leeds or Yorks team it’d be someone to follow
Patterson Steps Down As Club Captain - News - Yorkshire County Cricket Club (yorkshireccc.com) A statement that seems to reflect much better on Patto than on the club imho - not a word of thanks for someone who has captained with dignity through some turbulent times.
Absolutely… and all the cricket he’s missed has obviously affected his momentum when he couldn’t stop scoring.
Three big names known to be leaving this season. Be interesting to see who they bring in to replace them as it's three key players leaving.
Can't see yorkshire bringing any decent players in. It would appear they are going to be paying out a lot of money to former staff dismissed by Patel...
Think it's Moxon and Mark Arthur, the former CEO, that were paid out. Gale and the others who won the Employment Tribunal ruling have yet to agree a settlement figure afaik.
I'd be less interested if it was a leeds or any other named city in Yorkshire team. (It'd be a disaster) I suppose the Northern bit brings Durham folk into it. As well as the Yorkies.
Who are the top Yorks players playing for this time ? Didn’t Bairstow play for a Welsh side last year. I know what you mean about Leeds but it is Yorkshires centre so to speak
Surprised you've not started a Hundred thread Superchargers were having Stokes but he's now being rested. They still have Rashid. Root plays for Trent Rockets and Bairstow for Welsh Fire.
I'm disgusted at myself for knowing these and feel almost physically sick writing out stuff like 'Superchargers' and 'Rockets' but basically Yorkshire lose a whole team:- Lyth - Northern Superchargers Malan - Trent Rockets Root - Trent Rockets Bairstow - Welsh Fire TKC - Trent Rockets Brook - Northern Superchargers Thompson - London Spirit Rashid - Northern Superchargers Willey - Northern Superchargers Fisher - Birmingham Phoenix (but ruled out through injury) All of which brings me to another major bug-bear of this rancid twaddle - I got a couple of 'freebies' last year and took my then 8yo nephew to Headingley who idolises Jonny B (even more so now) and of course when he found out he wasn't playing for the Yorkshire based team but for the Welsh one he rightly imho said that's nuts and that he didn't want to watch any more (we haven't!)
honestly i don't give a flying **** about this tournament, went to 2 or 3 last time to see, but no interest if win or lose, i get that it gives a few smaller players a much needed pay day, but it's simply just ****! sooner have a 17 game t20 season, rotate 16 home or away each season with a local derby for the odd one roll on scarbados next weekend ;-)
I have yet to speak to anyone who is really in favour of the Hundred. I’ve no doubt several family units will go to the games as it’s a fiver for kids and freebies are handed out to local schools ( allegedly ! )
