I think it's boosted womens Cricket massively. I enjoyed the women's Hundred more last year. I think this year Superchargers should do better with Alyssa Healy arriving a year late because of Australian covid rules (if she had played she would have struggled to get back home), Jemimah Rodrigues who was excellent last year and one of my favourites Laura Wolvaardt who's one of the best in the world and pretty much the only South African who's been constantly good on the tour of England that's just ended. Those three at the top of the order is like the female version of when SRH in the IPL used to have Warner, Bairstow and Williamson.
Can’t do links but there is an interesting interview in Times today between Atherton and Kunwar Bansil, Yorkshire’s main physio who was “sacked” last year
Aren't they touring Pakistan later this month? Don't think anybody in England's test or t20 squads will be playing any CC games.
The t20 squad have an itinerary of seven games in Pakistan at 2 venues but not aware if the floods will change things. They then have a couple of warm ups in Aus before the World Cup. Don’t think there are any tests for us for a few months
The t20s start on the 20th September, not sure when they fly out, but I can understand England not releasing players at this stage. On the second point, no tests for a few months, apart from the one in a few days... Maybe players like Pope, Crawley and Lees will be released for the last couple of CC games, but I'd be surprised if Root, Broad or Anderson were
Not looking right good at Old Trafford but it’s good to see Finlay Bean in . However, at least 3 of todays side won’t be at Yorkshire next season so a bit of restocking needed
Just checked - my God!!! They were running away with it but now it’s 262 for 8. George Hill, our opening bat by the way, has six wickets. What a crazy day!
not had chance to watch any today, but 180/0 to 282/8 is outstanding especially with hill getting 6 noticed patterson team in too, thought he'd done playing for us?
Brilliant fight back. Even more so when Hill gets six of the eight wickets even though he was only the 6th bowler we used.
As yet, he hasn’t been used for bowling that much in spite of him being classed as an all rounder. Before yesterday he’d only taken 12 first class wickets
Apparently he wouldn't even have had much of a bowl, but the ball was changed after 74 overs, and was doing all sorts, so they didn't bother with the new ball until the tail were in.
https://metro.co.uk/2022/09/06/cric...n-3-balls-during-under-11s-game-17311273/amp/ Look at this three years old all rounder getting wickets for the under 11s. Get him signed up Yorkshire.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...ancashire-vs-yorkshire-1297767/match-report-2 Some good words about Fin Bean. His debut first class knock and it's away in a Roses clash. He did really well for himself.
